Chapter 1931

Ye Fan, a Southern Border Gu Master visiting for the first time, enters Emperor City, the largest mortal city in all five regions, where rank three Gu Masters are very commonly seen. Above it he names the floating Immortal Gu Houses, among them Canary Pavilion, Frost Dragon Manor, Wind Sweeping Building, Edge Link Camp, Illusion Garden, Yue Yang Palace and Sun and Moon Temple. His master Lu Wei Yin taught him to discern them. As in the previous life, he meets Hong Yi and they become sworn brothers. Hong Yi says the Refinement Path Convention is unprecedented and feels that its eventual winner will be one of them. ^{ch. 1931}

Shen Shang, a rank eight Gu Immortal and human path quasi-supreme, overhears them and judges that both likely have an opportunity to become immortal. Heavenly Court’s human path killer moves have already been used and Unfettered Scholar and Zheng Qing expelled, but Shen Shang has still disguised himself and entered the final competition ground without suspicion. Emperor City, created by Primordial Origin Immortal Venerable, is one of Central Continent’s main human veins, and he vaguely senses the human path methods that Heavenly Court’s Immortal Venerables left there. Fang Yuan urged him to unravel them. Emperor City is the largest shipment area for the human will Heavenly Court gathers, so destroying the city would greatly lower Heavenly Court’s efficiency, but Shen Shang does not plan destruction. He wants to trace the venerable methods from Emperor City, reverse-deduce them and steal their knowledge, hoping to cure the black fire so he will not go berserk. ^{ch. 1931}

At the Hairy Foot Mountain battlefield, Bay Pavilion, Flying Sand Pavilion and Unfixed Manor are heavily damaged and go to the second defensive line to be repaired. Heavenly Court has no deaths, and Zhao Shan He prepares his killer move. Zhan Bu Du shouts a warning, but Ye Qiao Zi and Vortex Space Boy block Wu Yong and Yi Hao Fang from charging in. Zhou Xiong Xin and Flesh Whip Immortal obstruct Clear Jade Dripping Wind Tiny Bamboo Building, while Zhu Que Er and Wan Zi Hong attack the five regional limit formation directly. Zhao Shan He swallows the surrounding five colored smoke, and Heavenly Court’s Gu Immortals use their full power in the cleared area. The formation shakes intensely, a large number of Gu worms die, and each use of the food path method of Zhao Shan He does immense damage. Repairs cannot keep up, and the formation slides into danger. ^{ch. 1931}

In Emperor City the final round is about to start, and Shen Shang refines Gu as cover while secretly preparing his killer move. Fang Di Chang drives Divine Bean Palace at the front of Western Desert’s main troops, and Central Continent’s troops face them in battle. Glad that Central Continent’s forces are restrained, Shen Shang erupts with a strong Gu Immortal aura and white light, declaring that the human path methods of the venerables must go. Then he spits blood, his body cracks, and his lungs and intestines burst. ^{ch. 1931}

He fails, and instead of resolving the venerable methods he triggers them in advance. The first, hope of the people, gathers white light on the Central Continent Gu Immortals. The second, heroes among people, shrinks the light as their auras grow. Central Continent’s army roars, its morale soaring, and charges at Western Desert’s troops. Fang Di Chang’s expression changes. ^{ch. 1931}
