I Am Your Father
Black poisonous smoke has covered the sky of Beast Calamity grotto-heaven for months, and it sometimes forms dragons that rampage across the land. Zhan Bu Du, bruised and exhausted, stands on the highest tower of Star Collection City while a female Combat Beast Warrior heals him. He admits his main body erred by setting the grotto-heaven’s time flow too fast, so tribulations come constantly, each becomes a beast calamity, and the calamities have merged into the smoke dragons. She urges him to rest after three sleepless days and nights, but he refuses. He is now the strongest Combat Beast Warrior there, and fewer people die if he fights. ch. 1917
She replies that his early warning made the major cities gather their civilians, and without it deaths and injuries would definitely have followed. Calling him truly worthy of being their savior, she says he saved hundreds of thousands of lives. Everyone in the grotto-heaven honors him as a hero. In truth he only guards his possessions, since he and Fang Yuan already treat the grotto-heaven as their property. ch. 1917
An eight hundred foot smoke dragon dives at the city, and its blow would destroy half of it and kill over a hundred thousand people. Zhan Bu Du turns into an eagle-headed warrior and collapses its head with countless extremely sharp wind blades. The city cheers him as World Savior Zhan Bu Du. Then more than a dozen dragons rush in, five times the usual number, and the cheering stops. Star Snail Hall flares, and the current Combat Beast King appears as a giant transformed with the corpse of the Star Sea Snail. He holds the grotto-heaven’s highest battle strength and is its final trump card. Zhan Bu Du feigns extreme surprise while privately noting that the old fellow has finally acted. ch. 1917
The giant’s fists destroy several dragon heads with extraordinary effect. But the warriors, merely flesh and blood, still fall behind as new dragons keep coming. Fearing the city will fall that day if this goes on, the King tells Zhan Bu Du to go and take the last inheritance. Zhan Bu Du already holds the Beast Calamity true inheritance from various important places and lacks only this part. He had to pretend not to know it lay in Star Collection City, since the King never mentioned it. ch. 1917
Zhan Bu Du flies to the last altar under Star Snail Hall, where the qilin heavenly spirit says he is qualified to inherit the entire Beast Calamity true inheritance. Its memories show that the grotto-heaven’s world is small and that transformation is not the true way to use Gu worms. The spirit says tribulations have come nonstop since the River of Time tributary changed, and it fears it cannot escape the myriad tribulation among them. It will open the door so that he can flee. The moment he inherits the complete inheritance, it acknowledges him as master. ch. 1917
Zhan Bu Du says there is no need, because his main body has arrived. Zhan Bu Du has the spirit open the entrance, and Fang Yuan enters unhindered, since he is no longer an intruder and myriad beings assimilation transformation no longer works on his main body. Most smoke dragons turn on the stranger, and the warriors cry out in despair. Fang Yuan strikes, the smoke recedes, and a huge hole opens above him, all without any transformation. The stunned warriors see their old cultivation thinking crumble. ch. 1917
Fang Yuan calls out that Father is here, and Zhan Bu Du flies out teary, begging his father to save the world now that he has left seclusion. The city erupts, taking the stranger for a secluded expert and Zhan Bu Du’s father, and believing it is definitely saved. Fang Yuan sighs that he never expected a disaster during closed cultivation, then disperses the smoke over the whole area. Smoke from elsewhere in the grotto-heaven soon refills it. Zhan Bu Du proposes a rest, and the two fly into the city under countless gazes. ch. 1917
