Chapter 1893

Fang Yuan appears on a small island in the sea and accepts the mission to collect Earth Trench black oil nearby. It was the first mission he took in the paradise in his previous life, so he knows it best. The blue dragon whale has moved, and Gu Immortals and missions have increased. Last time this mission let him save the mermaid girl Xia Lin and make her his pawn, the saintess of Merman City. Through her he reached regret sea and found regret Gu, whose venerable method sent him to the stone lotus island in the River of Time. ^{ch. 1893}

On that island he evaded Heavenly Court’s assault and inherited a Red Lotus true inheritance. In this life’s earlier River of Time battle he destroyed six Immortal Gu Houses from Heavenly Court and the river suppression lotus sealing formation, and he killed many Gu Immortals, though Nine Spiritual Fairy and Feng Jiu Ge alone escaped. The stone lotus island was destroyed too, so regret Gu’s venerable method cannot activate. This time he intends to take down Dragon Whale Paradise, with regret Gu only part of the larger plan. ^{ch. 1893}

His investigative killer move covers the whole island, an ordinary place with a fishing village, a low quality spirit spring and mostly mortals. He slips past weaving sea spiders and seashell sharks to reach the black oil in the Earth Trench. Contact with it carves food path dao marks into a Gu Master, and the conflicting marks weaken oil collectors, few of whom are food path. Their mortal bodies also suffer from it over time. The oil is almost still. ^{ch. 1893}

At the place he remembers, he parts the oil and does not find Xia Lin, and his heart sinks. Judging it more likely that she is nearby, since it is still early compared with the previous life, he moves more oil aside. He finds the blue scaled mermaid fainted among sea beast corpses and ores. Her face differs from Xie Han Mo’s, but their disposition is very alike. A bubble surrounds her, and she wakes in a waterhole, barely able to raise her upper body. ^{ch. 1893}

Fang Yuan walks in and says she is very lucky that he happened to find her. The fruit he gives her is very delicious, and she asks his name so she can repay him. He only warns her to stay away from the black oil. She grows dark, since her grandfather’s funeral left her in huge debt and she expects the corrosion to kill her soon. He has already healed it without lingering after-effects, which astonishes her. He tells her to eat and then come with him, and he leaves. ^{ch. 1893}

Xia Lin weeps silently, an ordinary poor mermaid girl whose only kin, her grandfather, has died and whose only goal is his water burial. Fang Yuan waits outside the forest and gives her time. He can reach regret crying sea by other ways, so her missions are not the most important. In the previous life Miao Ming Shen’s group shared its findings freely at the Merit Obelisk, and those findings are now his wealth. Having found her again, he can use this pawn to control Merman Sacred City indirectly, as before. ^{ch. 1893}

Xia Lin floats out of the forest, a white cloud holding her lower body three feet above the ground. He tells her not to call him benefactor, since his name is Chu Ying and people call him Master Chu. They go to the fishing village. ^{ch. 1893}
