Chapter 1836

In the dream realm, the dragonman clone and Huang Wei stand in Wen Xiu’s grotto-heaven before the floating Censure Peak. Long dead Wen Xiu reached rank eight only by owning Censure Peak. A Central Continent Gu Immortal says Wen Xiu was truly formidable, since the peak is man-made, full of information path dao marks and akin to half a secluded domain of heaven and earth. All the Gu Immortals present want it, and Huang Wei promises to help defend the clone and stall for time. ^{ch. 1836}

The human Gu Immortals, already agreed among themselves that a dragonman must not get the peak, attack the clone as the strongest there. Encircled with Huang Wei, the clone shelters them both in a golden river of ants, which suffers immense losses. He retaliates, breaks out, and forces the encirclers to retreat after a dozen rounds. The clone pays a terrible price, and Huang Wei, heavily injured, says with a bitter smile that at least they obtained Censure Peak. ^{ch. 1836}

About to take the peak, the clone finds that Fan Ji, who is having an affair with the clone’s wife Shu Jiu Ling, has secretly taken it as his own. Fan Ji has fainted, his soul foundation too weak to refine the whole peak. The clone almost attacks and kills him, but Huang Wei shouts that Fan Ji’s grandfather, now a member of Heavenly Court, would investigate and take revenge. The clone agrees, since killing him would at best involve himself and at worst let others use it against the dragonman race. ^{ch. 1836}

In immemorial white heaven, Shen Cong Sheng inspects the empty sky for a long time and says with certainty that Pine Crane Pavilion should be here. He and Song Qi Yuan, rank eight first supreme elders of the Shen and Song clans, agree to work together. On an important mission they found the house by chance with Fang Zheng inside, recognized it as an Immortal Gu House of Central Continent’s ten great ancient sects, and followed it from afar by Shen Cong Sheng’s method. Shen Cong Sheng had found an expert hidden near it. Too far away to see Fang Yuan’s ambush, they arrive after Duke Long and the house are trapped in his qi path battlefield. Shen Cong Sheng deduces a hidden immortal battlefield from clues, and they attack. ^{ch. 1836}

Fang Yuan faces threats within and without. Duke Long joyfully attacks harder, while Fang Yuan dodges and aims moves at Pine Crane Pavilion, Duke Long’s weakness. The battlefield gives way as more loopholes form, and Duke Long’s qi dragon targets its weakness until it breaks apart. Fang Yuan grunts under the backlash. Duke Long pushes Pine Crane Pavilion away on dragon-shaped qi with Fang Zheng inside, so that he can fight without reservations. ^{ch. 1836}

Duke Long returns to Eastern Sea and finds that Song Qi Yuan and Shen Cong Sheng, Eastern Sea rank eights, not his allies, destroyed the battlefield. They recognize Duke Long, extremely famous as Red Lotus Demon Venerable’s master. They suspect they have disrupted an Eastern Sea friend’s plans and helped Heavenly Court. When Song Qi Yuan tries to explain, Fang Yuan flies at Pine Crane Pavilion, and the enraged Duke Long gives chase and soon catches him. ^{ch. 1836}

The two resume exchanging moves. Song and Shen, seeing Fang Yuan target the house, grab Pine Crane Pavilion from the horizon to explain their stance. Fang Zheng shouts that he is a prospective member of Heavenly Court, protected by Duke Long, Gu Yue Fang Zheng and Fang Yuan’s brother. Song and Shen stop, and he offers himself as a hostage they could ransom to Heavenly Court for resources and Immortal Gu. Shen Cong Sheng waves his hand and Fang Zheng faints, and Song Qi Yuan says it seems they really cannot kill him. ^{ch. 1836}

Back at the battlefield they see Duke Long, rid of Fang Zheng, attacking fiercely once Fang Yuan finally reveals a weakness. Song and Shen hesitate over whether to reinforce Fang Yuan. Then Fang Yuan, who had pretended to be heavily injured to obtain this chance, rushes at Duke Long and lands Steal Life directly. Duke Long floats motionless in the air. He asks why Steal Life is in Fang Yuan’s hands. ^{ch. 1836}
