Chapter 1688

Combat Beast Warriors in a hall watch an image of the monster Fang Yuan flattening countless gigantic trees. Deer Warrior, coughing blood, fights him with a long spear to buy time for Spirit Spring Forest’s inhabitants, and Fang Yuan snaps his neck. Tens of warriors murmur in shock and anger. An emaciated old man on a raised platform says the Bull-headed Demon God has destroyed Sacred Eagle City, Dark Valley, and Spirit Spring Forest since it descended. A red haired boor calls him Lord Combat Beast King and demands the command to attack, and the others want to avenge Eagle Warrior and Deer Warrior. ^{ch. 1688}

The Combat Beast King tells them they do not truly realize the severity of this beast calamity, which might end the world. He says the monster’s strength is bottomless, and the first generation Combat Beast King, the strongest warrior in history, killed the star sea snail only by sacrificing his life. Star Snail Hall is that snail’s corpse, and the Bull-headed Demon God is at the same level, so the hall falls into complete pin-drop silence. He admits their chance of winning is not high and asks them to fight with the awareness that they will die. Duke Long calls out for whoever hides, and four rank eight Gu Immortals, all wanting Dragon Palace, reveal themselves and surround him. He names them Granny Rong, Yang Zi He, Shi Miao, and Zhang Yin, lone and demonic immortals of Eastern Sea, and asks why they send themselves to death.
