Chapter 1163

In Northern Plains, at Hei Fan grotto-heaven, Chu Du activates an immortal killer move; the ground cracks open and extends until, after tens of breaths, a huge trench tens of thousands of feet long runs along the ground. He has created an artificial Earth Trench through strength alone. He judges it imperfect, long enough but not deep enough, since earth path Gu Immortals are more skilled at this than a strength path Gu Immortal like himself. He considers buying rockman slaves to modify it further, but decides the trench is enough for now. ^{ch. 1163}

He takes a huge object from his immortal aperture, a red and black meatball like a small mountain, hot, round, and vibrating weakly. Placed into the trench, it spreads flat across several li, taking in earth qi and shifting through blue, green, jade, and fire red. He built Bai Zu tribe after absorbing the exterminated Hei tribe’s Iron Eagle blessed land and remnant forces, becoming a recognized super force despite being an outsider among the region’s mostly Huang Jin bloodline forces. That pressure forced him to guard his territory personally until he could finally hunt down and invade Hei Fan grotto-heaven. He urges Chu Du to back off. He offers to spare him, since he too was once a lone cultivator. A second Bai Zu, formed from a centipede, appears and asks whether Chu Du’s silent attack, leaking no Immortal Gu aura, was his immortal killer move formless strength; Chu Du does not answer. Chu Du warns that even rank eight strength will struggle against a well-defended territory; Bai Zu answers that his strength can break any arrangement regardless. Chu Du admits he cannot resist a rank eight’s might but still refuses to give up his territory; Bai Zu calls the grotto-heaven not worth risking Chu Du’s life over. Chu Du demands he show his true strength. Bai Zu agrees, and huge quantities of centipede Gu form over ten thousand illusory Bai Zu figures surrounding Chu Du. A new Bai Zu arrives, carrying Immortal Gu aura unlike the earlier illusions, and the two agree to fight in the sky, away from the ground’s resources both want to protect. Bai Zu had paid a huge price negotiating with four other rank eight experts, giving away most of Hei tribe’s resources to satisfy them. Finding far fewer resources than expected, he judges Chu Du has already hidden the rest away, making Chu Du his greatest target. An intense battle unfolds in the sky. A rank eight clone fights a famous rank seven expert, shaking the world like rumbling thunder. After more than ten rounds the first clone loses, but a stronger second clone joins and fights on. After ten more rounds Chu Du gains the advantage and is about to land the killing blow when a third Bai Zu clone appears, leaving him sensing something is amiss. ^{ch. 1163}
