Emperor Yama

Emperor yama has four main components: ghostly concealment, ghost official garment, Soul Beast Token, and Myriad Self. Fang Yuan calls the deduced result only an initial version that still needs activation and constant adjustment. ^{ch. 1562} Ghostly concealment at rank nine does not expend anything and functions on its own, while ghost official garment relies on soul foundation; the combined emperor yama does not require immortal essence and instead spends Fang Yuan’s soul foundation. ^{ch. 1563} After he steals rank eight Immortal Gu Soul Beast Token with great thief ghost hand, he modifies yama by adding that theft move into the new emperor yama, so great thief ghost hand gains longer range and can conceal itself. ^{ch. 1565}

Activated, emperor yama covers Fang Yuan in a yellowish-brown emperor robe and turns him into a ten feet giant with a crowned, fog-shrouded face, jade belt, and thin bronze armor on chest and back, while golden thread on the robe weaves thousands of orderly ghostly monsters. He picks Meng Tu, a peak rank seven blade path quasi-great grandmaster, as the test opponent because ordinary rank seven is useless and a true rank eight test would be looking for trouble. Meng Tu’s hidden killer move dents the bronze armor, then a little soul foundation restores the dent at once. ^{ch. 1563}

The woven monsters leap from the robe as yama children: human-shaped ghostly monsters that Fang Yuan remade from ancient soul beasts gathered in green ghost desert after he deduced emperor yama, with inspiration from blood deity Immortal Gu’s recipe and content from Spectral Soul Demon Venerable’s true inheritance, including soul beast modification. He also merges Life and Death Retrieval into emperor yama so injured yama children can turn to fog, return to the robe instantly, and recover there by spending more soul foundation. Emperor yama is a rank eight killer move whose base is ghostly concealment, an artificial secluded domain of heaven and earth at the same level as Reverse Flow River. ^{ch. 1564}

Soul explosion spends one yama child for a peak rank seven blast that still does not reach rank eight, clears Meng Tu’s blade path phantoms, and leaves the other yama children safe in the dark waves. Fang Yuan rates defense, yama child, recovery, and soul explosion as peak rank seven, then says emperor yama’s true power lies in two other aspects and next uses great thief ghost hand through the form to steal the core Immortal Gu of Meng Tu’s killer move heaven and earth blade. ^{ch. 1564} The stolen Gu is rank seven bladewing Immortal Gu; it is not Meng Tu’s vital Gu, though he raised it from rank five. Meng Tu later self-detonates; emperor yama is mostly destroyed in that blast, and Fang Yuan still keeps bladewing Immortal Gu from the theft. After the fight, when Meng tribe’s wisdom path Gu Immortal deduces him, emperor yama’s robe expands with the deduction’s intensity and blocks the probe; Fang Yuan judges that wisdom path deduction defense at rank eight and believes even Fairy Zi Wei can be blocked. He also notes that emperor yama still has room to improve and wants an immortal battlefield killer move with emperor yama as the core. ^{ch. 1565}
