Forced To Die

Earlier, in green ghost desert, Fang Yuan used great thief ghost hand, a rank seven move boosted by yama, to steal rank eight Immortal Gu Soul Beast Token from the immemorial soul beast Qing Chou. Its range was extremely short then, but he has since added it into yama to form the completely new emperor yama. Now the hand has long range and hides itself, so Meng Tu is struck. Fang Yuan holds a rank seven Immortal Gu shaped like a white butterfly and asks if it is bladewing Immortal Gu. Meng Tu asks whether Fang Yuan obtained a true inheritance of Thieving Heaven, and Fang Yuan confirms with a sneer and seals the Gu in Heaven Sealing Mountain inside his immortal aperture. ch. 1565

Bladewing Immortal Gu was not Meng Tu’s vital Gu, but he had raised it from rank five mortal Gu at a huge cost in resources, time and energy. Knowing he cannot beat the inheritor of Thieving Heaven, Meng Tu asks for mercy, citing the rule that thieves leave room, and offers to lend anything else. Fang Yuan frowns and says it is not impossible if Meng Tu truly wants that, then suddenly activates soul explosion, and a vast wave of darkness surges at Meng Tu. Meng Tu does not dodge, laughing at the thought that he would beg for mercy. Submerged in the darkness, he self-detonates in bright blade lights. ch. 1565

Not even Meng Tu’s corpse remains, emperor yama is mostly destroyed, the quasi-immortal battlefield disintegrates, and the plain sinks five to six feet. After several scans, Fang Yuan confirms Meng Tu is truly dead. Meng Tu’s bold self-detonation surprises Fang Yuan, and it is somewhat different from what he remembers of his first life. He had thought Meng Tu weak willed and subconsciously believed the plea, though he never meant to spare him. Meng Tu self-detonated one step ahead of Fang Yuan’s own move. ch. 1565

Almost all the edge Gu on the plain are destroyed, but their growth potential grows, because Meng Tu’s blade path dao marks are engraved in the land. Fang Yuan gains little: besides testing emperor yama and obtaining bladewing Immortal Gu, he fails to get Meng Tu’s soul and immortal aperture, his original aim. Before stealing the Gu, he had secretly taken the drinking blade wine from deep underground and casually stolen hundreds of edge Gu. He retreats extremely quickly, expecting many Meng tribe Gu Immortals to come. Killing those Gu Immortals is not worthwhile to him, since it would weaken Northern Plains and basically help Heavenly Court. ch. 1565

Meng tribe’s wisdom path Gu Immortal starts deducing Fang Yuan, and the emperor yama robe expands with the deduction’s intensity. The Gu Immortal stops after a while with no results. Fang Yuan, greatly pleased, judges emperor yama’s defense against wisdom path deductions to be at rank eight, strong enough to block even Fairy Zi Wei. He concludes its defense and offense are at peak rank seven, and great thief ghost hand, able to steal rank eight Immortal Gu, decided the battle with one attack, forcing Meng Tu to self-detonate. Believing emperor yama can still be elevated, he plans an immortal battlefield killer move with it as the core, which would have let him sense the self-detonation one step earlier. ch. 1565
