Meng Tribe's Pursuit
Meng Zi Zai, a rank seven Gu Immortal, and Meng Zhao, a young rank six Gu Immortal, fly toward autumn blade plain after Meng Tu’s message reporting an attack. Meng Tu could send no more messages once he used the plain’s blade path dao marks to cover it with an environment like an immortal battlefield. Meng Zhao guesses the intruder is a lone demonic Gu Immortal, and Meng Zi Zai warns that with the righteous path at its peak, whoever defies that trend is either a lunatic or has some background. Meng Zhao laughs that the intruder is truly unlucky to meet Lord Meng Tu, one of the top three rank seven experts of the tribe. Meng Zi Zai expects senior brother Meng Tu to be a great grandmaster now. He asked to come to aid Meng Tu, whom he admires most, though with utmost confidence in him he really comes only to catch up. He also means to introduce Meng Zhao, the junior he picked to draw new blood into the faction he shares with Meng Tu. ch. 1566
Meng Zi Zai suddenly shakes, pales and slows to a halt in the air, tears dripping from his eyes. Fury then fills his eyes, and he shoots ahead with a shout. Left far behind, Meng Zhao senses that something huge has happened, fears Lord Meng Tu has met danger and hurries to the plain. He finds its original layout completely destroyed, with blade marks cutting pits and trenches across the land. Seeing Meng Tu nowhere, Meng Zhao hears Meng Zi Zai, kneeling in tears, say hoarsely that Meng Tu has died in battle. ch. 1566
Meng Zhao hopes the battle has only moved elsewhere, but Meng Zi Zai says the tribe told him on the way that Meng Tu’s soul lantern was extinguished. He had still held hope until he arrived. He knows Meng Tu’s self-destruction killer move blade sacrifice destroys his immortal aperture, Immortal Gu and other resources, so using it means he is definitely dead. Rising expressionless, Meng Zi Zai says the tribe will definitely not let Meng Tu’s death go, and the enemy is unimaginably powerful, having forced Meng Tu to self-detonate before help arrived. He sees no sign of the enemy’s death, so even blade sacrifice failed to kill it. He vows to chase the culprit for a whole life and orders Meng Zhao back to the tribe to cultivate and keep the news secret. The tribe seals the news for stability and has not even told Meng Zhao, whose cultivation and status are low. ch. 1566
Meng Zi Zai adds that the second supreme elder is coming personally with the information path Immortal Gu House Investigation Courtyard, so they need not fear even a rank eight existence. Meng Zhao leaves with his heart at rest and soon sees the House appear on the horizon. The second supreme elder walks out, nods solemnly at Meng Zi Zai and inspects the battlefield, his expression turning heavier. Meng Zi Zai says the enemy is very clean, having dealt with the traces with extreme proficiency, but the elder answers that the House will serve. Using one of the House’s killer moves, the elder finds some clues. The clues show which way the enemy went, and the two Gu Immortals enter the House and chase Fang Yuan in fury and hatred. ch. 1566
