Meng Zi Zai

On the way, the tribe tells him Meng Tu’s soul lantern is extinguished. He slows, floats still, turns deathly pale, sheds tears, then shouts and races ahead of Meng Zhao. At autumn blade plain he kneels weeping, then tells Meng Zhao that Brother Meng Tu has died in battle and that Meng Tu’s blade sacrifice self-destruction means certain death. He orders Meng Zhao back to the tribe to seal the news, swears to chase the culprit even for a lifetime, and waits for Meng tribe’s second supreme elder with the Immortal Gu House Investigation Courtyard. After inspection finds traces, he and the second supreme elder enter Investigation Courtyard and chase. ^{ch. 1566}

Investigation Courtyard’s clues end at Sleeping Lady’s Divine Needle Valley. With the second supreme elder he visits Sleeping Lady, verifies her declared innocence, and helps search the valley. He pretends to note an unsearched area, then later announces a new clue. The trail leads into Murong tribe territory and vanishes. When they return, the divine hedgehog’s front-back divine obstruction needles are gone, and both Meng immortals realize they were used. ^{ch. 1567}

After Sleeping Lady publicizes Meng Tu’s death and her losses, his expression is ashen and he points at her in fury. Inside Investigation Courtyard he proposes sentencing Sleeping Lady as the culprit to regain prestige; the second supreme elder refuses for alliance, battle, and Longevity Heaven reasons, and they head back without usable clues. ^{ch. 1568}

After rebirth Fang Yuan recalls that Meng Zi Zai and Meng Zhao from Meng tribe investigated Meng Tu’s death and had actually suspected Sleeping Lady. ^{ch. 1752}
