Horizontal Charge Gu is a movement Gu that charges the Gu Master sideways. Fang Yuan pairs it with vertical crash Gu and plans to fuse both into Charging Crash Gu once he reaches rank four.
Fang Yuan trains with Horizontal Charge Gu in Shang clan city after selling jumping grass and buying it with vertical crash Gu as his movement Gu. He already plans that, once he reaches rank four, he will fuse the pair into Charging Crash Gu and keep using that fused Gu. ch. 288

Horizontal Charge Gu and vertical crash Gu are rank three, and are the two main materials that, with primeval essence and supplementary materials, refine into Charging Crash Gu. ch. 345
Effect
Horizontal Charge Gu is similar to vertical crash Gu, except the charge runs sideways rather than straight ahead. Fang Yuan activates it and his body charges horizontally, smashing through stone pillars in training. ch. 288
Both Gu let the Gu Master exert force while moving, so the movement itself becomes an attack. They suit strength path Gu Masters especially well. Unlike jumping grass, whose leap comes from the worm, vertical crash Gu draws its break-through force from the Gu Master’s body and grows as that body grows stronger; Horizontal Charge Gu is its horizontal counterpart. ch. 288
Vertical crash Gu alone is stated at about fifty steps with a five-breath cooldown when used by itself. ch. 290 When Fang Yuan alternates Horizontal Charge Gu and vertical crash Gu, he keeps a three-breath gap between them and accounts for about fifty steps per charge so one of the two movement Gu stays ready. ch. 291 The two rank three Gu together cover only a hundred steps, before Charging Crash Gu raises the fused charge to two hundred and halves the delay between uses. ch. 345
Fang Yuan’s early use
Against Li Hao he follows a vertical crash with Horizontal Charge Gu to close the remaining distance after the first charge falls short, forcing Li Hao to use position swap Gu. He keeps alternating the two Gu to dodge the mountain back toad and to press the fight. ch. 290 ch. 291
He later uses Horizontal Charge Gu to evade Zhu Ba’s meatball charge, then turns with vertical crash Gu to keep attacking. ch. 300 Against Ju Kai Bei he stops a vertical crash against a stone pillar, then fires Horizontal Charge Gu at close range to land a hit Ju Kai Bei fails to dodge. ch. 318 During the same match he keeps using both Gu to evade while healing with self-reliance Gu, even though dragon travel tiger steps Gu is faster than either charge Gu. ch. 319

Fusion into Charging Crash Gu
After he makes sufficient preparations for the recipe, two days later Fang Yuan succeeds in refining Charging Crash Gu from horizontal charge Gu and vertical crash Gu as the main materials. The fused rank four Gu doubles the charging distance to two hundred steps and halves the delay between repeated use, at a slightly higher primeval essence cost. ch. 345
In Northern Plains, when Hei tribe exchange goods have no Charging Crash Gu, he buys two pairs of rank three horizontal charge Gu and vertical crash Gu, intending to fuse them himself. ch. 517
