Position Swap Gu

Gu worm in Reverend Insanity

Position Swap Gu lets a Gu Master swap places with another person or Gu, and is the core of Li Hao's mountain back toad tactic.

On a Shang clan city battle stage, Li Hao faces a charging opponent, activates position swap Gu, and vanishes to his Mountain Back Toad’s spot while the toad takes his former place. The toad then jumps and ends the fight. Spectators say the Gu can swap the toad’s location and can also swap with an opponent, covering the toad’s low movement speed. ch. 289

Acquisition and use

Wei Yang tells Fang Yuan that Li Hao got lucky at a gambling den, obtained the rare position swap Gu, sold his other Gu, and bought a mountain back toad at auction. When Fang Yuan’s horizontal charge nearly hits him, Li Hao activates his vital Gu and swaps with Fang Yuan so the charge misses. ch. 290

Cost and timing

Li Hao can swap with Fang Yuan while the mountain back toad falls, forcing a crush if the timing is right. Spectators note the Gu’s huge primeval essence cost: further distance and a stronger target demand more essence, and Fang Yuan’s beast strengths make each swap expensive. To lower that cost, Li Hao had removed the beast phantoms from his body. His true core is the mountain back toad and position swap Gu. ch. 291

Strength path conflict

Fang Yuan reasons that rainbow light Gu and position swap Gu need a Gu Master free of strength modifications, because strength Dao marks interfere with the law of space and can make the Gu fail. ch. 292

After Li Hao dies

After the battle with Li Hao, Fang Yuan gains three Gu worms but not the mountain back toad or position swap Gu. He beat the toad to death, and position swap Gu, as Li Hao’s vital Gu, perishes with Li Hao. ch. 293
