Chapter 982

At the shark fishing banquet, Shark Demon and Su Bai Man turn warm and inviting toward Fang Yuan, having seen his wisdom path attainment. Shark Demon has his female Gu Masters perform their widely praised sea demon dance. ^{ch. 982}

In his previous life Fang Yuan suppressed Bo Dan only through scheming, and this same banquet gave him no dance. Now his capability earns Shark Demon’s hosting. Su Bai Man then offers each a servant; Tai Bai Yun Sheng declines as too old, and Fang Yuan asks instead for the shark groups outside the palace. ^{ch. 982}

Su Bai Man says the sharks are her husband’s alone, but Shark Demon agrees to let Fang Yuan take part, so long as he catches them himself. Fang Yuan proposes instead to deduce Shark Sea’s single most valuable shark, and asks Shark Demon to bear the loss of it if the catch succeeds. Fang Yuan fakes a deduction, and Shark Demon and Su Bai Man privately count three Immortal Gu in it. His eyes then burst with dazzling starlight. Fang Yuan reveals that the couple used enslavement path methods to restrain a rank eight one finger flow shark, admitting his own methods are too weak to capture it. ^{ch. 982}

Shark Demon and Su Bai Man’s bodies shudder in shock. Su Bai Man calls the one finger flow shark their greatest secret, concealed by Song Jia Dan at their request. Shark Demon calls Song Jia Dan one of Eastern Sea’s three most outstanding wisdom path Gu Immortals, and asks whether breaching his defenses means brother Chen already matches him. Fang Yuan’s heart jumps at having overdone it, and he calls it only luck, unable to beat Song Jia Dan directly. ^{ch. 982}

Shark Demon asks why Fang Yuan used no Immortal Gu there. Mortal Gu unravel a battlefield killer move just as well, only slower, Fang Yuan explains, since Immortal Gu cost immortal essence. Under pressure from Zombie Alliance to show progress, Shark Demon offers to raise his price instead. Fang Yuan doubts Shark Demon has seen the land spirit his dao mark method would come from, and argues for slowing down to comprehend every battlefield killer move. Shark Demon gives way, and Fang Yuan raises the price to Shark Demon’s limit. ^{ch. 982}

After resting, Fang Yuan returns and, using star thought Immortal Gu this time, spends many days finishing freezing rain frozen earth. He refined that Immortal Gu on his first attempt after rebirth, helped by his previous life’s practice and perhaps by better luck after connecting luck to Hei Lou Lan. He now accumulates materials to refine the rank six all-out effort Gu. ^{ch. 982}

Months pass. Fang Yuan’s help gives Shark Demon a much easier campaign than before, unraveling freezing rain frozen earth, fighting soul battlefield, and eight doors labyrinth. Fang Yuan grasps eighty to ninety percent of all three, though he still lacks the Immortal Gu needed to recreate them, already an immense gain. Fang Yuan then meets unmoving troops, the final trial of Yu Lu blessed land, and, lacking previous-life experience with it, progress is slow. He never joined Zombie Alliance, so Shark Demon cannot command him. He abandons it. Central Continent has fallen into chaos as the shattering of Starry Sky grotto-heaven scatters fragment worlds across it. In his previous life, one such fragment world’s dream realm gave him dual grandmaster attainment, though he never explored it fully. This life he anticipates how much more he might gain. ^{ch. 982}
