Crucial problem
Just past the guest halt stele, Fang Yuan finds a borrow strength Gu, a rank five strength path Gu that is almost completely extinct. It cannot work alone, but matched with sky, earth, fire or water strength Gu it lets the Gu Master borrow that element’s strength. Sky strength Gu is extinct; the others still circulate widely, though put to side-tracked uses. His killer move four arm wind king substitutes wind overlord Gu and tyrant strength Gu for it, at not even fifty percent of the effect. With it the move can reach a whole new level. He exchanges close to ten spring egg Gu for it. ch. 560
The treasures farther in are a level or two higher. The blood flame light shielding him is wearing down, and once it completely disappears the building will detect and eradicate him instantly. He must find the owner token first. At a fork in the long crystal corridor, the image of central continent Gu Immortals attacking the blessed land in his previous life helps him choose the left path. ch. 560
He finds an owner token sealed in the crystal wall, the doing of central continent Gu Immortals. Normally the alliance leader holds an owner token, which self-destructs outside Imperial Court blessed land. Close to a millennium ago those Gu Immortals bribed that time’s alliance leader and, it is rumored, used an Immortal Gu to tamper with the token, which then hid inside Eighty-Eight True Yang Building as a key for the future. In Fang Yuan’s past life they finally breached Imperial Court blessed land. In this life the token lands in his hand. Exchanging for it is extremely smooth, but making it usable is the crucial last step. ch. 560
Fang Yuan strikes the token with Gu worms until thirty-eight halos cover it and its dull surface reveals the words owner token. The halos burst, and his blood turns the fallen token into translucent glass. It differs greatly from Hei Lou Lan’s original owner token. His methods came from his past life’s video, and he judges this very possibly an Immortal Gu’s work; only Immortal Gu can tamper with an owner token unnoticed by the building. The blood flame light disperses and he is safe. Making the token recognize him is harder than refining a rank five Gu. ch. 560
Holding the glass owner token, Fang Yuan can enter the treasure room freely without a high grade evaluation, and it equals control of a small part of the building. Testing it shows Hei Lou Lan’s group fighting a golden-white tiger phantom at the sixty-first round, and Fang Yuan reckons they will last less than forty-five minutes. If the possessor of the owner token walks out of the building, he must leave too. The glass token lets Fang Yuan stay, but exposing it now is unwise. He still needs to find the loophole and blow it up, which would let him freely take the treasures in the crystal wall. ch. 560
The glass owner token shakes, and Fang Yuan arrives in the central control room, where a sand table models the whole blessed land. A Gu worm of his turns to black smoke that darkens the table into sticky liquid, which drains into a funnel shaped hole. He takes it for the loophole and means to enlarge it and refine the glass token into a one-edge owner token that controls a floor at will. Then he sees that the hole is the Di Qiu inheritance site. He rejects the idea that it is a concealed move of central continent Gu Immortals, since the cipher and the grey-white stone slab clues are clearly clues to the inheritance. ch. 560
He sees two possibilities: those Gu Immortals found only the hole without any clues, or they could not decipher the inheritance and broke the hole anyway, destroying it. He cannot confirm either. Bursting the hole as in his previous life would destroy Di Qiu inheritance, but preserving it would stop his plans for Eighty-Eight True Yang Building. He hesitates, then judges the building worth much more and means to abandon the inheritance. Marveling that someone could tamper with Giant Sun Immortal Venerable’s arrangement, he suddenly thinks of an extremely crucial problem. ch. 560
