Chapter 1909

The black fire transforms into silver-white mist with a strange aura that belongs to no path, and daybreak flying swords only boost it, so a suspicious Fang Yuan switches to wind blades. The wind blades weaken the mist, but the rate of decline is very small, and the mist becomes three whirlwinds that cover Shen Shang and the two immemorial year beasts. Fang Yuan keeps swapping tactics, and the fire keeps shrinking. The two beasts die without leaving corpses. Only Shen Shang remains as his target. ^{ch. 1909}

Shen Cong Sheng can no longer watch and calls out that he has a huge amount of wealth to gift, and to his joy Fang Yuan stops. Fang Yuan asks whether he wants to save the demonic immortal that Paradise Earth Immortal Venerable personally suppressed, whose crazed state matches what the Merit Obelisk describes. Shen Cong Sheng looks deeply at the imprisoned Shen Shang and decides that the madness is only temporary. Fang Yuan asks what price he can pay. ^{ch. 1909}

Shen Cong Sheng offers a stomach pouch that Fang Yuan names as the treasure blue beaver’s, from an extinct immemorial desolate beast that Old Immortal Kong Jue slaughtered more than any other Gu Immortal. The pouch alone is half an immortal aperture holding a whole small world, an extremely rare and highly valuable treasure, and Fang Yuan stores it in his immortal aperture. Shen Cong Sheng then throws him a very heavy long black rod, which Fang Yuan names a falling star rod tree. Planted in an immortal aperture, it creates an orbiting star system with yearly gains almost impossible to estimate in total. Fang Yuan stores it as naturally as the pouch. ^{ch. 1909}

Fang Yuan says these alone cannot buy a rank eight great expert, and Shen Cong Sheng takes out a lump of water whose waves advance and retreat in unison. Fang Yuan names it advancing and retreating tidal water, a rank nine immortal material and one of the three great waters, worth far more than the pouch and the tree combined. Shen Cong Sheng offers all twelve portions he has, but Fang Yuan says that is not enough and resumes stabbing Shen Shang. Shen Cong Sheng protests that his insane ancestor is not the same as an intact rank eight. Fang Yuan replies that Shen Shang should still have sane moments. ^{ch. 1909}

Asked what else he wants, Fang Yuan says he wants a large number of rank six and seven immortal materials, as much variety and quantity as possible, rather than highly ranked ones like the three already given. Shen Cong Sheng agrees the request is not hard but asks what Shen clan gains from a crazy rank eight, a hidden threat that even Paradise Earth Immortal Venerable personally acted to eliminate. Logical to the point of being almost emotionless about the clan’s interests, he sees that Shen Shang’s insanity has made his value plummet immensely, and he has no confidence of solving the problem. Fang Yuan laughs and points at Shen Shang as the ancestor Shen Cong Sheng went to great lengths to save, then adds that Shen Cong Sheng will also gain his friendship. Fang Yuan says that the shifting earth veins and the fusing five regions will make the world chaotic and the divide between righteous path and demonic path useless. He proposes a strong partnership, hidden if they wish, that joins an extremely affluent clan to a man free to act without burden. He warns that Central Continent, far stronger than the other four regions, may one day attack Eastern Sea, and that enemies never run short while allies like him are extremely rare. Fighting on is lose-lose, while helping each other is win-win. Cooperation would deal first with the Paradise Earth true inheritance and Shen Shang, later with Central Continent, to manipulate the entire state of the world. ^{ch. 1909}
