Chapter 1908

The sovereign immortal body’s greatest advantage is also its greatest weakness, and Shen Shang’s killer move, which cannot be guarded against, now exposes it. Light injuries on Shen Shang also strike Fang Yuan through mutual injuries, and because of non-conflicting dao marks they become heavy injuries on him. Healing killer moves work in full on Fang Yuan too, so he recovers instantly. Shen Shang snickers and activates Heavy Injuries, hurting himself with greater intensity, and Fang Yuan’s body shakes intensely as his vision darkens and his seven orifices bleed. Fang Yuan cannot compare with Shen Shang in healing methods and needs another way. ^{ch. 1908}

Shen Shang turns crazy and repeats Heavy Injuries, wounding himself heavily and healing rapidly in a cycle, while Fang Yuan’s flying swords disintegrate and the warship keeps backing off. Shen Shang’s wild laughter stops abruptly as his connection to Fang Yuan weakens. Fang Yuan has activated Self Cleansing and strips the human path dao marks from his body. Shen Shang mutilates himself more intensely so the marks on Fang Yuan grow, since a single remaining mark lets him bypass the warship. ^{ch. 1908}

Fang Yuan has stabilized the situation and activates the Twelve Zodiac ancient battle formation, which brings out the huge grey stone giant with peak rank eight strength. Under his control the giant only tries to capture Shen Shang, who has no choice but to dodge. The battle deadlocks, and Hua Die, Feng Jiang, Tong Hua, Tu Tou Tuo, Gui Qi Ye, the Shen clan immortals, Miao Ming Shen and Ren Xiu Ping are transported away in turn, leaving only Shen Cong Sheng. Fang Yuan hits Shen Shang with a time path killer move that halves his rate of time, and the giant grips him in a cage of ten fingers. Shen Cong Sheng cannot help, facing backlash from Paradise Earth Immortal Venerable’s restrictions. ^{ch. 1908}

Fang Yuan finally succeeds, wasting few hidden trump cards. Shen Shang then shouts, his eyes turn pitch black, and a lump of black fire burns on his body as he spasms, drools and growls like a beast out of control. The fire melts both hands of the giant, which are completely defenseless against it, and Fang Yuan deactivates the formation so that twelve immemorial year beasts appear in the sky. Two beasts touch the fire and lose their reasoning, while the other ten flee from it as far as they can. Fang Yuan and Shen Cong Sheng cannot tell what path the fire belongs to, and both feel an extreme threat, as if it were the enemy of all lifeforms. ^{ch. 1908}

The two burning beasts fall, and though Fang Yuan strongly senses that the fire would bring an even greater tragedy should they reach the seawater, he does nothing and retreats into the warship. Freed of the giant, Shen Shang floats laughing like a lunatic and does not hear Shen Cong Sheng’s calls, so his descendant also retreats. A golden-white pillar of light shoots from the underwater formation, which has only forty percent left, and with unprecedented power pushes the beasts upward and immobilizes them and Shen Shang. Fang Yuan suddenly sends daybreak flying swords through the pillar into Shen Shang, and Shen Cong Sheng shouts anxiously at Fang Yuan to stop. Fang Yuan smiles coldly and attacks harder, splitting the swords so that one group goes after his own immemorial year beasts. The fire weakens by only a very slight amount, so daybreak sword, a rank eight killer move, nearly has no effect. The black fire then suddenly turns into lumps of silver-white mist. ^{ch. 1908}
