Immortal materials are refinement resources that hold plentiful dao marks. They are the main and supplementary stuff of Immortal Gu refinement, and they vary almost without bound.
Sacred elephant blood is named as genuine immortal material: it can be the main material for a rank six Immortal Gu, or a supplementary material for a rank seven Immortal Gu. Immortal materials vary greatly; the different types are like the numbers of stars in the sky, and even Five Elements Grandmaster cannot possess all of them. Dao marks
Immortal materials are called that because they contain plenty of dao marks. When such materials wither into purple sand, those dao marks should have been destroyed. ch. 934 Immortal materials can refine Immortal Gu because they themselves contain a lot of dao marks. Refining an Immortal Gu gathers the needed dao marks from countless mortal Gu and immortal materials. Path matters: a bee wing rich in metal path dao marks helps a metal path Immortal Gu and is useless for star thought Immortal Gu. ch. 936
