Immemorial soul core

Soul cores at rank eight come from immemorial soul beasts. Fang Yuan’s early green ghost desert harvest fills a small basin with mostly rank six cores and some rank seven, with no rank eight cores yet. ^{ch. 1503}

To free control capacity for more immemorial soul beasts, Fang Yuan kills two subdued immemorial soul beasts inside his aperture and takes two huge soul cores. The text names them rank eight immortal materials, immemorial soul cores, and treats that yield as rare enough that he would not kill those beasts without need. ^{ch. 1524}

A rank eight immemorial soul beast’s soul core is as large as a horse carriage. Immortal materials at rank eight are normally used to refine rank eight Immortal Gu or to construct a large formation; spending them to produce guts Gu on Dang Hun Mountain wastes much of that value. Fang Yuan stores two rank eight soul cores rather than feed them to the mountain. ^{ch. 1617}

Fang clan later sends Fang Yuan a large number of soul cores that include one rank eight immemorial soul core, used to compensate and appease him after the burning firefly desert murder case weakens their earlier intimidation. In his previous life, when he extorted Fang clan, they gave only rank six and seven soul cores and no immemorial soul cores. ^{ch. 1781}
