Main Body's Breakthrough

The eighth layer is much more vast than Fang Yuan expected, and after a long search he has found only many worlds created and destroyed, with no venerable Dao fields. He guesses that the void has no direction and that Limitless Demon Venerable’s arrangements made the original cave boundless, so he may be moving in a small circle. To find his destination he needs to raise his phantom path attainment, since this void is a supreme profundity of phantom path. His rule path great grandmaster attainment still leaves some distance before he can comprehend it. Unable to break through directly, he tries another angle. ch. 1869

He activates Cooking Luck Pot to bless himself with luck, and although its low level cannot completely influence the main body’s luck, it changes a portion extremely quickly. Wu Shuai, a peak rank seven Gu Immortal, has the grandest luck, a roaming dragon with a water halo for the help of Gu tribe and merfolk. The dragon holds a pearl of Dragon Palace and another of army ants. Fang Di Chang’s luck is second, a giant tree shaped into Divine Bean Palace, its exposed roots showing unbreakable ties with Fang clan. Zhan Bu Du, just recently a rank six Gu Immortal, has a strong eagle much bigger than the luck of Li Xiao Bai, who is still a Gu Master. A miniature River of Time flows as the time path clone’s luck, black qi gathering on its surface. The dream path clone, a rank five Gu Master with a sealed aperture, has the smallest. ch. 1869

Li Xiao Bai’s luck is a flower in full bloom with nectar from his hard effort, and a snow white butterfly blowing cold wind drifts toward it. Fang Yuan’s brows furrow slightly. He reads the butterfly as a woman who wants the nectar and brings the flower no benefit. The vast cold wind marks a large trend, and the butterfly is only a prologue. Should a mishap occur and the wind come down, the flower will wither, yet the butterfly’s closeness indicates a fortuitous encounter. Li Xiao Bai aims to take over Profound Literature grotto-heaven, but a rank eight Gu Immortal guards it and ties Fang Yuan’s hands, so luck is the biggest help the main body can give. Fang Yuan turns the flower into peach blossom luck, which doubles efficiency by interacting with the butterfly, and leaves the rest to the clone. ch. 1869

Fang Yuan sees a giant grey fish roaming the void, the first living being he has seen escape a world, and chases it. It kowtows in shock and introduces itself, in a young girl’s voice, as Yellow Earth Sage’s disciple Little Flower. It cannot find Yellow Earth Dao field, having left Yellow Earth Grand World to train after its cultivation reached a barrier. Fang Yuan imprisons it and searches its memories. Venerable Dao fields exist forever but are always moving. Yellow Earth Dao field is vast, dense with earth path dao marks, rich in immortal materials and Gu worms including Immortal Gu, and full of living beings but no humans. ch. 1869

Fang Yuan covets Yellow Earth Dao field, believing that devouring it completely would raise his assets by at least three times, since refining Immortal Gu on a large scale has consumed most of his resources. Paradise Earth Immortal Venerable arranged it and taught everyone without discrimination. All its beings have souls, and the Gu cultivation method he left gives most of them apertures, a few reaching Gu Immortal. The elite Gu Immortals among them leave to train at a barrier and cannot find the way home, but return once they break through, which Fang Yuan reads as the Dao field responding. The fish is itself a rank seven elite Gu Immortal. Dao fields war with each other, their beings invading rival fields, and Fang Yuan guesses the venerables arranged this but may learn their goal only inside one. ch. 1869

Fang Yuan offers to enlighten the fish, which trembles, aware that he is cruel and indifferent, unlike the Yellow Earth Sage. Knowing its barrier from its memories, he guides it in concise words until it stops shaking. No breakthrough comes, because its intelligence is not equal to a human’s. Fang Yuan patiently keeps teaching, hoping that helping it break through will trigger a response from Yellow Earth Dao field. ch. 1869
