A Match Made In Heaven!
Fang Yuan floats above the collapsing Five Regional Mountain Range, from which five colored lights emerge, each keeping its own route. Tao Zhu’s true inheritance appears only if the whole range is destroyed, and the commotion would be huge. Fang Yuan has waited because he has just captured the Southern Border immortals, raising his strength, and Heavenly Court’s attention is drawn to them. In the previous life Wu Yong succeeded in destroying the range through the accumulation of Qiao clan, which had researched the inheritance for many years. Only a specific method targeting the arrangement of the earth vein can succeed, and Fang Yuan applies it. The five colored lights disappear completely. ch. 1786
Enormous pillars in five colors soar to the skies, and a voice says the junior passed the final test of destroying the range, so the five regional inheritance is his. In the middle of the pillars, a smoke-like will condenses into a Gu Immortal, the will Tao Zhu left behind. Fang Yuan smiles coldly and pulls it out, grabbing it by the throat, and it furiously calls him a rank seven junior. He reveals a trace of rank eight aura, and the will turns around entirely, calling him a rank eight friend while privately judging him not a good person. Fang Yuan declares himself a current generation demon taking the true inheritance. As Gu worms and Immortal Gu fly into his immortal aperture, the pillars fade. ch. 1786
The will is flabbergasted that he took the entire true inheritance without consent and that the main body’s arrangements were completely useless against him. It asks who he is. Under his gaze it feels completely emptied and extremely terrified. Fang Yuan says the inheritance will be very useful when he dominates the world and invades Heavenly Court. As reward he will let it find a new inheritor in his grotto-heaven, and replenish it instead of destroying it, so that it lives for a long time. ch. 1786
Held at Fang Yuan’s mercy, the will feels extremely bitter, and its main body had made a shocking breakthrough at the end of his life but lacked time to become famous. He left the inheritance to test a proper disciple, whose renown would make up for his huge regret, but Fang Yuan destroyed the range, skipped the tests and took everything by force. The will sighs that this is life and accepts him, good or bad, since any bloodshed he causes will surely shake the five regions, as the main body wanted. It asks only that he not cover up the main body’s achievements. Fang Yuan laughs and says he will not fight a dead person over reputation, since he must surpass Heavenly Court and the venerables to pursue eternal life. When the will thinks him crazy, then realizes he can detect its thoughts, Fang Yuan laughs again that lacking this ambition would make being human pointless, and failure only means trying again. ch. 1786
The will freezes in a daze and recalls the past. Tao Zhu was then a rank six lone immortal mocked for researching the five regional walls. A Southern Border righteous path Gu Immortal of high cultivation ordered him to stop, since success would bring war between the five regions while Central Continent is strongest. When Tao Zhu protested, the immortal took away his research gains by force. His lover, the beloved child of Yao clan’s first supreme elder, ended things, saying he loved his research more than her, and asked him to choose, but he could not say a word. She left in tears, and Yao clan soon held an alliance marriage with another righteous path force with her as the bride. ch. 1786
On her wedding night Tao Zhu sat in a tiny cave, researching with overflowing tears a rank two mortal formation that held all his research gains so far. His research bore fruit, and later Yao clan’s first supreme elder visited Tao Zhu, now a rank eight, admitting he had underestimated him. The elder had secretly hindered Tao Zhu’s relationship with his daughter. Had he known Tao Zhu would reach rank eight, he would have nurtured him and brought the two together for his clan’s benefit, but he still forbade the research. Tao Zhu argued that removing the walls would bring prosperity, and the elder replied that war was far likelier. Tao Zhu did not rebuke him. ch. 1786
The elder said the righteous path would avoid fighting a rank eight to the death, and so told Tao Zhu a secret. A Paradise Earth true inheritance held by Yao clan says the earth veins of the five regions will merge and the regional walls will disappear by themselves. Tao Zhu shouted that it was a lie, but the elder said the evidence was already with him. The elder warned that if Tao Zhu succeeded while the walls stood, the righteous path and all its rank eights would join forces and exterminate him. Tao Zhu stood dazed in defeat. ch. 1786
Back in reality, Tao Zhu had died long ago, and Fang Yuan, holding his lingering will by the throat, strikes it with his words, so that it laughs maniacally. Years later, the main body, recovered from the elder’s blow, had the same realization. Even if he failed, even if the walls vanished and the research was meaningless, he still wanted to do it, because that is how he wanted to live. He created the inheritance because of his lingering regrets, and it is now in Fang Yuan’s hands. Excited, the will offers Fang Yuan the inheritance and the true meaning hidden elsewhere, feeling that giving it to him would fulfill the regrets of a main body unskilled at fighting. Fang Yuan smiles in a confident but arrogant way, tells Old Man Tao Zhu to observe it himself, and promises to make the inheritance renowned in the world. ch. 1786
