Traitor Bai
Fang Yuan finds that he cannot instill his will endlessly. His main body can only watch, so his wisdom path methods cannot work. Both sides want heaven form, Qi clan to protect itself and Fang Yuan for strength against Heavenly Court in the River of Time. They fight through will alone, where Fang Yuan’s practice since suffering at Mo Yao’s hands gives him a growing advantage, though Qi clan’s cumulative will is much greater and his advantage never becomes victory. He worries about Bai Ning Bing, who once backstabbed him. The heaven’s will fortress is very strong and does not waver under Qi clan’s attacks, yet he fears he may lack the will left to deal with it. ch. 1640
His will encircles Qi clan’s wills, which fear that they could not stop him from leaving if destroyed and so regroup and charge, and Fang Yuan orders Bai Ning Bing to block them. Her will instead defends Qi clan’s wills and attacks him, and his shrinking will escapes while he calls her a traitor. She laughs that he would deal with her after getting heaven form, which is her own fortuitous encounter as Bai Xiang’s descendant, and chases him. When she calls for help, Qi Fa’s will suspects a trap and holds Qi clan back, and she exterminates Fang Yuan’s will by herself. Qi clan’s wills then wipe out hers and attack the fortress. A large amount of heaven’s will gushes out and inflicts huge losses, since they had forgotten that it could move freely. They go all in and expose the core, with only a bit of will left. ch. 1640
Fang Yuan’s will suddenly appears again, though they thought he had used up his will and needed a thousand years to send it in again. He easily destroys their wills and takes the core as the final victor. Opening his eyes, he sees the five Qi clan Gu Immortals fleeing in panic. He does not stop them, since the Five Xiang’s arrangements would stop him if he attacked here. Bai Ning Bing stays motionless beside him. ch. 1640
The betrayal was his plan to deceive Qi clan and heaven’s will, which he judged still held much battle strength. He hid a portion of his will, while her will was truly wiped out, which also kept her from acting at the crucial moment. Qi clan’s weakened wills could not see through it. Heaven form is now under his control, and he asks her with killing intent whether she really is not going to run. Her value is squeezed out and she is not under his control like Shadow Sect’s members. She is far weaker than him, and if they fight she will die for sure. ch. 1640
