Dark Veil is Hei Cheng's battlefield killer move. Dark liquid from his black robe dyes the surroundings black into a fighting domain.
When Fairy Li Shan’s pear orchard lotus beams strike, Hei Cheng answers with this battlefield killer move. From inside it he rains black balls that become dark vortex spirals eating holes in the orchard, while the heated light beams tear open parts of the veil; as the beams thin and the vortices multiply, he gains the upper hand. ch. 688
Fight pressure
Standing in the dark field, he mocks Fairy Li Shan after she seals his dark arrows and then shows a black pearl that can call Dark Prison. She is already worn from pear orchard, earth flower lotus burial, fading heavenly flower, and tree flower sheds tears, all mortal moves aimed at those arrows, and she hangs on under the veil while hoping Hei Lou Lan’s tribulation ends soon. When Fang Yuan’s myriad self army charges in, the pitch black field that occupied half the sky is smashed into tatters and Hei Cheng has to retreat. ch. 689

Inside his aperture, facing a blizzard that speeds snow monsters, he activates over a hundred mortal Gu in a few breaths and forms a darkness domain under his feet, recognizing it as Hei Cheng’s battlefield killer move at mortal level. Immortal battlefield moves clash with aperture dao marks, but a mortal dark veil does not, and at first it weakens the blizzard and slows small snow monsters. The blizzard then compresses the field until it collapses at his feet, and only about twenty percent of the hundred Gu that made the move survive for him to retrieve. ch. 1054
