The Roaming Zombie Gu is a rank two Gu that turns its user into a zombie form with tough flesh, regeneration, and no pain sense, at the cost of elemental weaknesses.
Xiong Jiang of the Xiong clan activates this Gu during a Gu battle on the alliance slope. His body turns dry and green like dead wood, his teeth grow into exposed fangs, and his irises turn green. The Gu is rank two; once activated it can turn one into a zombie. ch. 125
Form and rank
It is rank two at first activation. ch. 125
No cited chapter describes the Gu worm’s own shape inside an aperture, or a feeding method for the worm. What the text shows is the user’s changed body: greenish zombie flesh, fangs, and green eyes under the ability. ch. 125 ch. 135
Effect
Compared with a living body, the zombie form resists punches and kicks better and regenerates more strongly. It fears fire, lightning, and light, and it resists water, wind, and poison better. Daylight weakens the form relative to night. ch. 125 Defense against water and ice is amplified, pain sense drops away even under broken limbs or icicle hits, and zombie physique counts among yin physiques, strong against cold aura and weak against fire, lightning, and sunlight. ch. 135
Xiong Jiang’s pain sensors are reduced to zero while the form holds, so torn muscle and exposed bone do not stop him in the alliance-slope spar. ch. 125
Side effects and companion Gu
Powerful Gu often need companions. Fang Yuan notes that Roaming Zombie Gu is best used with Bloodline Gu; without that pairing, long use drains the blood in the body and can change the user into a true zombie. ch. 126
A later chapter says Xiong Jiang badly wanted Blood Essence Gu, which replenishes a Gu Master’s blood. Paired with Roaming Zombie Gu, Blood Essence Gu would greatly reduce the side effects and let him stay a zombie longer without backlash. ch. 157
The text names Bloodline Gu and Blood Essence Gu in those two places. It does not say they are the same Gu.
Early battles
On the alliance slope, Xiong Jiang uses the zombie form to tank Bai Bing Yi’s Water Drill Gu, then relies on Shadow Bond Gu to share a fraction of the damage back. ch. 125 During the wolf-tide clash with Bai Ning Bing, he uses Roaming Zombie Gu again so ice and water attacks land on amplified zombie defense. ch. 135
Xiong Jiang’s death
When his primeval essence runs low, Roaming Zombie Gu stops working. He later leaves it inactive to conserve essence, and Fang Yuan’s moonblade one-shots him. ch. 137
Advancement and lifespan use
If Roaming Zombie Gu is used for too long, the Gu Master can turn completely into a zombie and, by sucking blood at specific times, live on indefinitely. That is one demonic route to long life besides Lifespan Gu. ch. 185
Blood Wight Gu is a major rank five advancement route of Roaming Zombie Gu. Together with Asura zombie, heavenly demon zombie, nightmare zombie, and plague zombie, those forms are called the five great flying zombies. ch. 185 The classic series restates as rank two Roaming Zombie Gu, rank three Fur Zombie Gu, rank four Jumping Zombie Gu, and rank five Flying Zombie Gu, with Blood Wight Gu among the flying zombies. ch. 192
Path
Early Qing Mao Mountain chapters describe the zombie transformation without naming a cultivation path for this Gu.
The same series span repeats with different English names for the middle ranks (hairy zombie Gu, hopping zombie Gu), again naming five great flying zombie Gu, including blood wight and asura zombie. ch. 526
Asura zombie Gu sits under the classic zombie series of transformation path; that series runs from rank two roaming zombie Gu up through rank five flying zombie Gu across the five regions. ch. 526 The text does not give Roaming Zombie Gu a separate path sentence outside that series membership.
