A fight of three rank five peak stage Gu Masters in the air above San Cha mountain, fought over the heads of the crowd waiting on three kings inheritance.
Under Tie Mu Bai’s influence three kings inheritance had become the righteous path’s garden of exploration, with any demonic Gu Master chased out and refused entry to the mountain. ch. 372 He had held San Cha mountain that way for the greater part of a year. ch. 373 Wu Gui arrives inside dark clouds that shroud the peak and shape themselves into a face over it, and the crowd names him a rank five peak stage expert of the older generation and Tie Mu Bai’s lifetime rival. Talk on the mountain places his hatred in a rank six breakthrough the young Tie Mu Bai disturbed and ruined, and in the Tie clansmen he has slaughtered many times since in revenge. ch. 372
Tie Mu Bai answers from the peak in bursting golden light, the two fight inside the clouds where onlookers can feel the aftershocks and see nothing, and narration gives him the advantage of that opening. Wu Gui, losing it, asks whether Tie Mu Bai thought he had no backup, and a third rank five peak stage aura bursts out; Tie Mu Bai cannot hide his shock at Ku Mo’s name. ch. 372
Two against one
Ku Mo’s arrival turns the fight into two demonic path rank five peak stage Gu Masters pincering one. Tie Mu Bai can suppress Wu Gui alone and cannot fight both at once; his two opponents have allied and remain guarded against each other; and the three settle into a stalemate. ch. 373
Each of the three commits a rank five Gu, and that is what empties the mountain. Turn gold Gu leaves whatever it passes through a golden sculpture with its life force extinguished, Ku Mo’s soft bones Gu turns bone within fifty miles to paste, and Wu Gui’s pitch black Gu spreads a darkness that restricts any Gu below rank six it touches. Spectators are killed where they stand, by a golden light that cuts a gorge through the mountainside, by a raven’s cry that bursts hundreds of heads, and by bone spikes falling out of the sky; the rest flee San Cha mountain, and even the rank four peak stage Gu Masters who hold on longest cannot stay. ch. 373
Fang Yuan, watching from a distance, reads it as a probe rather than a decision: a rank five Gu Master’s strength is the rank five Gu he holds, Tie Mu Bai will not expose all of his, and from the start the fight had neither a winner nor a loser. ch. 373
Outcome
Tie Mu Bai contends easily with both demonic Gu Masters on rank five turn gold Gu, then brings out rank five liquid metal Gu, which makes the two of them back out and weakens their fighting spirit; the fight ends with both sides relenting. Its conclusion is that righteous and demonic paths alike may contend for three kings inheritance, and that everyone watching could see Tie Mu Bai had not used his full strength. ch. 374
Standing afterwards
When the three light pillars have dimmed and the Gu Masters gather to enter, Wu Lan Shan cups her fists and gives Tie Mu Bai the first entry. Among the rank five Gu Masters present he is still the one with the greatest strength, the number one rank five on San Cha mountain and a top-tier rank five throughout Southern Border, and his standing is publicly recognised; even opponents like Ku Mo and Wu Gui have to admit it. Once he takes King Xin inheritance, Wu Gui and Ku Mo look at each other and settle on avoiding the entrance he chose. ch. 376
