Four Conditions to Become a Venerable

Over tea, Lu Wei Yin raises three fingers and tells Fang Yuan there are four conditions to satisfy if one wants to become a venerable. ^{ch. 2085}

The four conditions

First, the Gu Immortal’s immortal aperture origin core has to produce white litchi immortal essence. ^{ch. 2085}

Second, the Gu Immortal’s main cultivation path needs to have at least three hundred thousand dao marks. ^{ch. 2085}

Third, the Gu Immortal’s main cultivation path needs to be at least supreme grandmaster in attainment level. ^{ch. 2085}

Fourth, after meeting the first three conditions, the Gu Immortal has to break through the Heavenly Dao blockade, after which the immortal aperture origin core undergoes a qualitative change and produces rank nine yellow apricot immortal essence. ^{ch. 2085}

Heavenly Dao blockade

Fang Yuan asks what the Heavenly Dao blockade refers to. Lu Wei Yin answers that the Heavenly Dao does not want Gu Immortals to increase in number while also growing stronger, so calamities and tribulations occur and are part of that blockade. Before becoming a venerable, the Heavenly Dao will send a tribulation far greater than any myriad tribulation. He also names lifespan Gu: it is a heaven path Gu worm that people cannot refine, and during an era with a venerable in existence, natural production of lifespan Gu continuously falls. The third blockade he names is fate Gu, which Fang Yuan has already destroyed. Fang Yuan summarizes that there are basically three types of Heavenly Dao blockades, with the tribulation blockade as his greatest remaining hurdle. ^{ch. 2085}

Lu Wei Yin affirms that human path methods are a good way of breaking through the Heavenly Dao blockade, and that the various venerables share a trait of comprehending something from The Legends of Ren Zu and creating their own top tier human path killer moves. ^{ch. 2085}

Fang Yuan’s checklist

Fang Yuan treats the first two conditions as basically those of a rank eight Gu Immortal who has passed three myriad tribulations, and judges he has already met them in qi path, time path, refinement path, and transformation path. He has not yet reached supreme grandmaster, though refinement path, time path, and enslavement path are already quasi-supreme. After analysis he finds only two points still restrict him from becoming venerable: attainment level, and the Heavenly Dao blockade. ^{ch. 2085}
