A Dao Lord is the lord of a certain path: a rank nine venerable with supreme grandmaster attainment whose growth raises that path and heaven and earth.
Lu Wei Yin names Dao Lord as the concept that separates a true venerable from pseudo venerable battle strength, and as the reason venerable methods can last for years without dissipating. A Dao Lord is the lord of a certain path. When a Gu Immortal becomes venerable with supreme grandmaster attainment, that person becomes the leader of that path, and improvement of the person signifies improvement of the path and of heaven and earth. ch. 2086
Natural dao marks
As a Dao Lord, the Gu Venerable can sense all natural dao marks of heaven and earth of that path and refine them, then manipulate them at will. After becoming venerable, a period of roaming the world is often spent refining those natural dao marks and turning the world into a personal battlefield killer move. That refinement is the secret of venerable invincibility. ch. 2086
Not instantly invincible
A venerable who has just become a Dao Lord is still not invincible. Strength still rises by refining dao marks of that path in the outside world. Spectral Soul Demon Venerable reaches Dao Lord when rank nine cultivation, a soul beast body, and supreme grandmaster attainment are in place together. ch. 2195
Amplification by dao marks
After a venerable refines natural dao marks, every action is amplified and strengthened by those marks. Without natural dao marks to refine, as in a void with none present, venerables do not display that full amplification in combat. Strictly speaking, a Dao Lord without sanity is not counted as a true Dao Lord. ch. 2220
Portion of heaven and earth
Owning a portion of heaven and earth is what a Dao Lord entails. Even a refinement path venerable can refine only a portion of the five regions and two heavens treated as one giant immortal material of all paths. Other venerables become the Lord of one Dao; Fang Yuan’s sovereign immortal body with non-conflicting dao marks is named as different in potential across paths. ch. 2240
Heaven and earth resonance
The secret behind Dao Lord power is also named as resonance of heaven and earth: after natural dao marks are refined, every move is amplified by those marks. ch. 2270
