Fang Yuan decides not to practice the method now, because he already has the battle strength to fight a group of rank eights alone and building an ant army from scratch would need immense resources. ^{ch. 1848} Army ant is a species created by Green Ant Ascetic and is extremely suitable for enslavement path Gu Immortals, and the rank eight Immortal Gu Ant Nest that is his core Immortal Gu can breed all kinds of army ants. Grown to the scale that can fight rank eight Gu Immortals, the ant army becomes a heavy burden and a bottomless hole in expenditure, and Wu Shuai reckons it would not have grown this large without the help of Gu tribe and the merfolk. ^{ch. 1879} Building on Green Ant Ascetic’s method, Wu Shuai creates the killer move lingering poisonous ant plague, which lets his ants devour dao marks and refine themselves into higher ranks, though only Fang Yuan’s main body can use it. ^{ch. 2103} Army ants are vicious insects in essence that can raise their strength from ordinary beast to beast king, desolate beast, ancient desolate beast, and immemorial desolate beast, and Wu Shuai elevated their essence from insect to Gu. Two ant Immortal Gu born of the ant plague, red copper fire ant and white noodle queen ant, seem to have been an arrow ant and a queen ant. ^{ch. 2108}

Qi Sea Ancestor recognises Wu Shuai’s battlefield killer move myriad army ant nest, whose core is the rank eight Ant Nest Immortal Gu: countless army ants are first sent to corrode a blessed land or grotto-heaven, and once the corrosion reaches a certain point the battlefield activates. Inside it Wu Shuai sends army ants against the Heavenly Court Gu Immortals and sends many more to devour resources and breed rapidly. When Seven Fiendish Primeval Monarch, most of his body already melted, raises his injured fist at Qi Sea Ancestor, densely packed army ants climb up his body and he breaks apart the next moment. Then the star array calculation formation collapses, and the power of its self-detonating stars, under the control of Star Constellation Chessboard, breaks the ant nest battlefield. ^{ch. 2322}
