Large Sized Missions
Xia Lin, a blue scaled mermaid, gathers impatient Gu Masters in Golden Jade House on a sea island and declares it her territory. Visitors may trade if they pay taxes and do not stay long, and anyone who wants to live there must join her. The rank three leaders scoff that she is only rank two, and Xia Lin, following Master Chu’s order, says they will soon see what she relies on. She does not know what it is. ch. 1899
The ground shakes, and thick yellow light rises, covers the whole island and seals the entrance of the Gu House. The Gu Masters suspect Xia Lin, and Fang Yuan’s voice tells her what to say: the change benefits everyone. Legends of immortals were only rumors among mortals, and now the word immortal rises in the Gu Masters’ minds. Fang Yuan is repairing the immortal formation under the sea with immortal materials and many killer moves. New land condenses, and the island more than doubles in size. ch. 1899
After the earth path side Fang Yuan mends the water path side, and the new shore’s huge waves settle once the formation is completely mended. He gives Xia Lin a small subsidiary immortal formation built atop it. White light merges entirely into Xia Lin, and though she has no formation path attainment she can move the island’s land and seawater with her thoughts. Golden Jade House grows into an ornate palace, whose formation core Fang Yuan has connected to the formation under the sea. ch. 1899
Xia Lin recites Fang Yuan’s script: her immortal master just laid out this formation and ordered her to guard the island and handle mortal affairs. She lifts the Gu Masters with yellow light and releases them. They hail an immortal miracle, while she, who has just learned that Master Chu is an immortal, is as shocked as they are. When Xia Lin asks again about her proposal, they bow, some kneeling to follow her and some asking to become Fang Yuan’s disciples. She appeases them, and news of the miracle soon draws countless people, some hoping to join her. ch. 1899
In his previous life Fang Yuan helped Xia Lin become the mermaid saintess, and now he backs her forces early. She will build her own force on his instructions, and a will he leaves in the formation will tutor her. This investment is not even a drop in a bucket. Repairing the formation was his costliest act, since his grandmaster formation path attainment cannot use natural dao marks and immortal materials were his greatest spending. ch. 1899
Back at the Merit Obelisk, the mission gives Fang Yuan a hundred merit points, the limit for a mid-sized mission, and he becomes the undeniable number one. Now at grandmaster earth path attainment, he studies the board, hoping to refine the Merit Obelisk itself, but deep disappointment follows. It holds earth path, sound path, human path and heaven path, with human and heaven the true cores, so comprehending it completely would need great grandmaster attainment in all four. Refining it is unrealistic now. He keeps completing missions. ch. 1899
When Fang Yuan reaches nine hundred merit points, Shen Xiao finds the good person title and tells Shen Cong Sheng. The Shen clan Gu Immortals begin gaining points, and Ren Xiu Ping and Tong Hua follow. The board now has four groups: Fang Yuan way ahead alone, and the Shen clan under Shen Cong Sheng catching up. Ren Xiu Ping and Tong Hua, attached to the Shen clan, are told later. Miao Ming Shen and the others still do not know. After another mission Fang Yuan passes a thousand points, thinking these people finally found the title and are truly unlucky, perhaps because his luck suppresses them. He spends a thousand points on the really good person title, which finally lets him accept large sized missions. ch. 1899
