Obtaining Primordial Origin's True Inheritance

Duke Long finally reaches an agreement with Fang Yuan while the two Eastern Sea rank eights, Song Qi Yuan and Shen Cong Sheng, watch and cannot stop them. He compensates Fang Yuan with a large amount of qi path cultivation resources and gives one Primordial Origin true inheritance to Qi Sea Ancestor. Qi Sea Ancestor, Fang Yuan’s disguise, agrees to a truce with Heavenly Court. The resources and the true inheritance are to be handed over in portions, with only a fraction exchanged on the spot. ch. 1846

Fang Yuan stops stalling before the others sense something and leads them to Dragon Palace. He teases, speaking as Qi Sea Ancestor, that Fang Yuan is after the palace and that Heavenly Court may settle its enmity with him today. Duke Long replies calmly that this would leave one less problem. At the spot in the depths of the sea Dragon Palace has already vanished. Duke Long does not suspect a wrong location and sighs that Dragon Palace really flew away. ch. 1846

Playing the curious bystander, Fang Yuan provokes him, saying Heavenly Court would have lost to Fang Yuan once more had Dragon Palace fallen to him. Duke Long is completely unaffected. Only a dragonman can become the Dragon Palace Lord, so whoever subdued the palace is a dragonman or has one as a subordinate, and Dragonman Extermination basically gives Duke Long a trump card. Duke Long judges that the failure was not completely without gains, since Qi Sea Ancestor’s relationship with Heavenly Court has improved, and is sure he will find the palace again. He decides to save Dragonman Extermination for a crucial moment and to recover Fang Zheng first. ch. 1846

Duke Long approaches Shen Cong Sheng, who holds Gu Yue Fang Zheng, is unsurprised by the request, and decides to extort Heavenly Court for many benefits. Fang Yuan is slightly moved but will not compete, since it would go against Qi Sea Ancestor’s character and the chances of killing Shen Cong Sheng to seize Fang Zheng are very slim. He secretly transmits to Shen Cong Sheng instead. Shen Cong Sheng says his soul search of Fang Zheng suggests that Fang Zheng somehow counters Fang Yuan. Fang Yuan, still posing as Qi Sea Ancestor, urges him to keep Fang Zheng and trade with Fang Yuan, who holds many venerable true inheritances. He hopes to strike while Fang Zheng stays out of Heavenly Court’s hands. ch. 1846

Shen Cong Sheng calls the suggestion good and demands a venerable true inheritance from Duke Long. Duke Long laughs, says Qi Sea Ancestor earned his true inheritance by fighting and winning acknowledgement, and warns Shen Cong Sheng to watch his attitude. Shen Cong Sheng admits he is no match for Duke Long but says Duke Long cannot kill him now. He adds that he can kill Fang Zheng with a single thought. He stops pressing for a true inheritance and asks what else Heavenly Court offers, but the long negotiation reaches no agreement. Fang Yuan sees that the more Heavenly Court values Fang Zheng, the greater his own killing intent grows. When the disguised Fang Yuan suggests contacting Fang Yuan first, Shen Cong Sheng refuses, preferring Heavenly Court, a righteous path force that needs a living Fang Zheng while Fang Yuan wants him dead. ch. 1846

Fairy Zi Wei gives Duke Long a piece of information, and he transmits it to Shen Cong Sheng, who cries out in surprise. Duke Long offers this intel on top of the resources he named during the talks, and Shen Cong Sheng agrees without hesitation. Fang Zheng, already fainted, is handed over to Duke Long on the spot, and Duke Long leaves with him. Song Qi Yuan and Shen Cong Sheng invite Fang Yuan to their clans and promise resources as compensation for unintentionally destroying the immortal battlefield. Fang Yuan agrees, flies off, and meets his dragonman clone, who walks out of an Immortal Gu House hidden in a cloud. His gains on the expedition are even more than expected. ch. 1846
