Winter Coat is Xia Cha's time path defensive immortal killer move. It is one of four seasonal battle moves with Spring Scissors, Summer Fan, and Autumn Perception.
After soul searching Xia Cha, Fang Yuan lists her battle set as spring scissors, summer fan, autumn perception, and winter coat, involving Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter Immortal Gu. Winter coat is a defensive killer move with extraordinary effect. Autumn Gu and Winter Gu are only rank seven, so while Fang Yuan is still rank seven he can practise the corresponding immortal killer moves from that set. ch. 1617
Fang Yuan’s defense
When flame snakes enclose him after an incomplete Immortal Gu House breaks, Fang Yuan casts winter coat and a layer of snow-white frost covers his body. The frost spreads to protect his time path clone, Hei Lou Lan, Ying Wu Xie, Bai Ning Bing, and the rest. Unlike reverse flow protection seal, which only defends the user, winter coat can affect other people. A later flame-dragon variation of the old man’s fire snakes slashes through winter coat; Fang Yuan takes rank eight killer move backlash, many mortal Gu die, and his core Immortal Gu survive damaged but usable. ch. 1631
River of Time defense
Outside a formation that makes reverse flow protection seal much harder, he switches to the time path killer move winter coat. In the River of Time, winter coat is amplified with his time path dao marks and shows defensive power on par with reverse flow protection seal there, though still not as amazing as that seal. When he cannot dodge, he uses winter coat to endure attacks forcefully. ch. 1633
