Upslope Road

Hei Lou Lan and Lu Tong Lan walk Upslope Road with full effort and gain greater rewards, including Immortal Gu. Others copy them. Segments without Predicaments can still yield resources such as dragon horn grass, and later stretches place rank eight Immortal Gu on the road behind Predicaments that must be fought because the heavenly road does not allow turning back. ^{ch. 2116}

In The Legends of Ren Zu, Strong Gu urges Great Strength True Martial onto Upslope Road because the harder journey often holds good things. He finds invisible effort Gu at his feet, keeps choosing Upslope Road, and obtains authority Gu and fortitude Gu, then humility Gu and forgiveness Gu. Because he walks Upslope Road, ability Gu appears within him. Cognition Gu tells Ren Zu that the more valuable the pursuit, the more Upslope Road segments and Predicaments must be faced. ^{ch. 2117}
