Flying Frost Sect

Fang Yuan first meets its first elder An Han on the climb at Five Virtues Mountain, where burly men clear a path for An Han’s bamboo chair and the crowd names Flying Frost Sect as a force not to provoke. Listeners recall that Five Virtues Sect and Flying Frost Sect fought for the mouth of a spring, with Five Virtues Sect barely winning and Flying Frost Sect taking severe losses. Appearance

On Central Continent’s east coast, waves crash while frost energy oozes and white fog covers hundreds of li. The sect sits on a huge profound ice island overflowing with frost energy; ice path wild Gu gather on it, and frost soaks nearby trees. The island’s edges are smooth and shiny with no rough edges, resembling melted candles, and the ice is beached on the sandy shore. ^{ch. 831}

Profound ice island

Hundreds of years earlier, a huge piece of profound ice floats onto Central Continent’s east coast, overflowing with frost energy and gathering ice path wild Gu. Gu Masters loot the island early, then stay because the ice is hard to melt and the frost suits ice path cultivation on a tropical coast that is warm all year. Conflict over the limited space draws the Gu Masters into an alliance that seals the island against outsiders. After several hundred years, ambitious leaders over generations harden that loose lone cultivator alliance into a sect, and it grows into a large force with no match in the surroundings. Refinement Path Convention host

The second round of Central Continent’s Refinement Path Convention is held at Flying Frost Sect as one of the contest sites. Fang Yuan arrives with his token to refine ten ghost fire Gu at once under a time ranking. Flying Frost Sect is a righteous sect and will not provide ghostly souls, so he must bring that material himself. When he burns souls in public, the sect leader managing the stage decides not to recruit him, and sect members show ugly expressions but cannot stop the refinement during the Convention without offending the ten great ancient sects. An elder announces that Fang Yuan finishes in less than fifteen minutes and takes first place of that round. ^{ch. 831}

The sect later arranges a duel venue after an elder says its first elder will give Fang Yuan and Zheng Shan Chuan an area to compete. ^{ch. 833} First elder An Han leaves his own venue so that duel can proceed, and Flying Frost Sect announces the commencement. ^{ch. 834} After the duel, Old Man Qi Shan stores the blood path Gu worm carefully; their witnesses are not just Flying Frost Sect but the entire Refinement Path Convention. After this matter, Old Man Qi Shan gives Zheng Shan Chuan a lesson on Fang Yuan’s grasp of people and on An Han’s jealousy of other talents as the one who had encouraged the duel. ^{ch. 835}
