The Bear Enslavement Gu is a rank two Gu that can be planted into a bear so a Gu Master can manipulate it. At rank two it cannot enslave a bear king.
During the wolf tide, one of Xiong Jiao Man’s giant bears dies to lightning wolves, and a Gu worm shoots from the corpse back to her hand. That worm is Bear Enslavement Gu, rank two; it cannot enslave a bear king. ch. 146

Gu Yue Yao Le recalls that Fang Yuan took a Bear Enslavement Gu from Xiong Jiao Man when she sees a large black bear with him. Even without his control of the Gu, the bear begins eating once food is before it. ch. 151
Forced feeding
When the black bear refuses brains and intestines needed for Man-beast Life Burial Gu, Fang Yuan wills in his mind and activates the Bear Enslavement Gu planted in its body, forcing it to swallow the rest under his oppression. The same chapter groups Bear Enslavement Gu with Wolf, Tiger, Deer, and Bull Enslavement Gu as the beast side of that recipe. ch. 152
Rank three rise
The wolf tide was dangerous but also an opportunity. Because of it, Xiong Jiao Man rose to rank three, and the Bear Enslavement Gu also rose to rank three, finally able to enslave bear-type hundred beast kings. At the three-clan clash she fields over two hundred black bears led by a hundred beast king as her trump card. ch. 189
