Old Ancestor Xue Hu questions him over soft jade sand that has not been fully collected. Despite a fierce reputation and rebellious nature, Li Peng Wang lowers his head and reports that a sky chief beast group forced him to stop, and that he will succeed if he returns to white heaven. Xue Hu warns that this first round failure already threatens his place as fourth peak owner. Lady Wan Shou later says he was heavily injured yet still brought back a portion of soft jade sand. Xue Hu ties that bad luck to Fortune Rivalling Heaven’s backlash against acts that would harm Ma Hong Yun. ch. 772
