Chrysanthemum Akita Dog

Its fur is orange-yellow, like the color of an orange, with chrysanthemum patterns on it. Long ears droop over the ear holes. Its body is about the size of an ordinary wild dog, or slightly smaller. ^{ch. 348}

The dogs are naturally good at cooperation, and the larger their numbers, the fiercer they fight. Nearly sixty of them gather into a river-like formation to charge Fang Yuan, with no dog king commanding them. Wild dogs, lightning symbol dogs and hedgedogs cannot do this without a dog king. Fang Yuan throws dog enslavement Gu into the fight, and five healthy chrysanthemum akita dogs turn to join him. The pack goes into a panic as companions turn into enemies. Fang Yuan says that with a dog king to command them, they would not have escaped so easily. After the battle he holds sixteen chrysanthemum akita dogs. ^{ch. 348}

By the end of the nineteenth round, Fang Yuan holds over eighty dogs, over forty of them chrysanthemum akita dogs. At the twentieth round the orange light is the size of a wicker basket and stands for around two hundred of them. Fang Yuan rules the group out. With a dog king they would be even more united, and over two hundred would be a calamity for him now. ^{ch. 349}

In the battle with Big Lightning Symbol Dog and its pack, Fang Yuan’s own chrysanthemum akita dogs suffer the greatest loss, falling from around fifty to less than twenty. Their speed is inferior to the lightning symbol dogs. They can only form a tight ring and defend passively. ^{ch. 349}

At the next fog the left light shows around two hundred of them, some resting, some playing, some drinking milk from their mother. Their beast kings differ from those of other dogs: the stronger the king, the smaller its body. In a chaotic battle the king mixes in with the dog groups and hides. Fang Yuan cannot find the hundred beast king in the shadow. ^{ch. 350}

He calls the group the most united dogs and very strong in group battles. Winning against it would reward a dog guts Gu, a rank two supplementary Gu of the enslavement path. Fang Yuan passes it over for the steel armor dogs. ^{ch. 350}

In the line facing the steel armor dogs, orange chrysanthemum akita dogs support the blue lightning symbol dogs. They stand beside grey hedgedogs. ^{ch. 351}

Wu Gui commands about forty chrysanthemum akita dogs against a lightning symbol dog pack five times their size. The narration says the dogs have great unity: the greater their numbers, the greater their strength. Facing the pack, they are all injured but none is dead. When Wu Gui dies, the pack engulfs them at once. ^{ch. 380}

In the forty-eighth round, Wu Shen Tong counts them among dogs too extreme to rely on. He holds that corpse dogs are less united than chrysanthemum akita dogs. Heavy tai dogs match them in unity. He judges a mixed army of chrysanthemum akita dogs and corpse dogs extremely brittle in formation. ^{ch. 386}

Mo Wu Tian tells Li Qiang to fight the steel armor dogs while falling back, then move left and engage the chrysanthemum akita dogs. Li Qiang leads three hundred people. ^{ch. 391} Li Qiang reports that lightning symbol dogs and chrysanthemum akita dogs struck his party together, in numbers too great to handle. ^{ch. 392}

Some in the crowd count over five thousand chrysanthemum akita dogs. ^{ch. 393}

The narration says dog kings cannot hide among their dogs because of their disposition, apart from the chrysanthemum akita dogs, which are unique. Chrysanthemum akita dogs, lightning symbol dogs and other ordinary dogs form the outer defense. ^{ch. 393}

Chrysanthemum akita dogs, lightning symbol dogs and other common dogs suffer the most casualties. ^{ch. 394}
