Chapter 804

The demons give chase, but Jade Pool’s entrance closes before most, so only a few follow Chang Fan out while the rest use the earlier hole. He is already far off, the gap still widening. Fang Yuan falls behind into a second wave. The first wave holds Chang Fan, Old Lord Can Yang, Unfettered Scholar, Zhou Ping and Fairy Li Shan, the second Pi Shui Han, Hei Lou Lan, Fang Yuan, Qie Shi Min and Divine Lord Tian Du. After fifteen minutes, Old Lord Can Yang’s patience runs out. He will block Unfettered Scholar and two others at most in return for the method’s final part, and Chang Fan yields it. Can Yang keeps his word and turns back to block Unfettered Scholar, Lu Qing Ming and He Ruo. Zhou Ping drops out short of immortal essence, and Tian Du can go no further. ^{ch. 804}

Showing an exhausted face, Chang Fan secretly tells the miniman Gu Immortal to flee. The miniman hesitates, their pact not over, but Chang Fan cuts him off, throws Miniscule Mountain away. Fairy Li Shan changes course to seize it as it streaks off as jade light, and Chang Fan’s tired look vanishes as his speed rises thirty percent. ^{ch. 804}

The miniman is weaker prey than Chang Fan, and the mountain worth more, so Fairy Li Shan chases it, having asked Fang Yuan and Hei Lou Lan for help. Hei Lou Lan follows, but Fang Yuan refuses, so Fang Yuan, Pi Shui Han and Qie Shi Min chase Chang Fan, the rest chasing the mountain. With two foes lured away, his lead widens further. ^{ch. 804}

Pi Shui Han tells Qie Shi Min to use his captives. Qie Shi Min now kills the tribesmen one by one before Chang Fan. Chang Fan sneers and keeps flying, slipping only after the thirteenth captive dies before pulling ahead. The two sides stay deadlocked as others pass. An hour later only Chang Fan, Fang Yuan, Pi Shui Han and Qie Shi Min remain. ^{ch. 804}

Chang Fan, far ahead, laughs that he will reward them all if he survives. These three cannot match his risen speed, and his advantage grows. At their wits’ end, all three have no method left. ^{ch. 804}

But Chang Fan loses control again, his speed falling drastically as Dong Fang Yu Liang’s voice screams. Qie Shi Min urges them to finish him now. As they close in he smiles as though his plot succeeded; Fang Yuan, realizing the trap, retreats too late. A ray of starlight grazes his shoulder and pierces Qie Shi Min’s forehead; his head explodes as the chariot he sits on comes apart. ^{ch. 804}

Chang Fan still holds such a trump card this late. He laughs that Qie Shi Min is an example to any who follow, and the loss of control was staged. Qie Shi Min, an enslavement path Gu Immortal with a weaker body, grew slightly careless while chasing, costing him his life in one blow. ^{ch. 804}

Pi Shui Han calls for the chase to continue. He insists Chang Fan is only bluffing. Fang Yuan says the same aloud, but inwardly he is unsure, since this old scoundrel is no ordinary immortal. ^{ch. 804}

With Qie Shi Min dead, no captives are left to break his control. Looting the dead man’s aperture would cost too much time, so they press on with little hope. But Chang Fan’s speed falls by thirty percent from before, giving them fresh hope. Deciding to work together, they close in, leaving him no room to escape. ^{ch. 804}

Chang Fan’s body flickers, and a second figure appears, identical down to the aura. Pi Shui Han names the rumored split shadow Immortal Gu, now confirmed true. The two fly off, indistinguishable, so Fang Yuan and Pi Shui Han split up. Chang Fan splits again soon after, which tells Fang Yuan he had chased the true body. He brings out Dong Fang captives he had secretly kept and threatens their lives, but neither figure reacts, and unable to tell the two apart he picks the left one at random before Chang Fan splits once more. His essence nearly spent, his giant hands too slow to even scratch Chang Fan’s clothes, Fang Yuan is left with nothing. ^{ch. 804}
