Fang Yuan Fights Duke Long

Fang Zheng sees Duke Long, Red Lotus Demon Venerable’s master, and feels safe. He cannot recognize the old man in a white robe as Fang Yuan in disguise, only a rank eight cultivator unknown in Eastern Sea. Duke Long, also curious, finds a hidden rank eight normal in vast Eastern Sea, and says ancestor suits a rank eight but naming oneself Qi Sea before him is too arrogant. Fang Zheng, noting both men cultivate qi path, feels a little sympathy for the old man. ch. 1834

Duke Long demands the motive for the ambush and the relationship to Fang Yuan, and Fang Yuan, slightly surprised, answers coldly as Qi Sea Ancestor, a secluded Eastern Sea cultivator, that Heavenly Court is too ambitious and will come for him. Duke Long retorts that he must have been deceived by the demon Fang Yuan and says they have no grudge. Qi Sea Ancestor replies that Fang Yuan, someone from the future, gave concrete evidence and pointed out many of his secrets. Duke Long can rebut Heavenly Court’s past or present actions but has nothing to say about its future, and judges it likely that Heavenly Court will attack him later. He concludes that Qi Sea Ancestor means to stop him retrieving Dragon Palace, so Fang Yuan is likely going after it, and resolves to end the battle quickly. The deception works through Fang Yuan’s familiar face killer move and a genuine rank eight aura, and Duke Long, like the whole world, thinks Fang Yuan a rank seven Gu Immortal. Unlike the previous life, the sovereign immortal aperture’s secret is not yet exposed. ch. 1834

Duke Long attacks first with the transformation path killer move Dragon Claw Strike, but Qi Sea Ancestor turns into cloud fog in his own immortal battlefield and fades. The test confirms a qi path battlefield, where transformation path methods are greatly restricted. Duke Long points behind him so that bubbles surround Pine Crane Pavilion, then sends out multiple qi dragons that will attack on their own once they find Fang Yuan. A thousand foot blade qi slams down, and Duke Long uses qi wall three times in a row, fusing three walls that collapse as most of the blade qi disperses, leaving him unscathed. Fang Zheng’s ears bleed and he works to steady the shaking house, completely dumbfounded, his sense of safety completely erased. Duke Long asks how many times Fang Yuan can use the move, and Fang Yuan taps three times, sending three more blade qi at the house, the third larger. ch. 1834

Duke Long is deeply shocked at how easily Fang Yuan uses the killer move, which draws on more than a million qi path dao marks amplified by the battlefield. Duke Long has only thirty percent as many dao marks, so he needs three qi walls to block one blade. He marvels at such immense battle strength from Eastern Sea. Breathing in deeply, his battle intent completely drawn out, Duke Long bursts out his overwhelming aura and charges at the blade qi with dragon roars. ch. 1834

Meanwhile in the quiet dream realm, the dragonman clone, whom Tai Qin calls Brother Shuai, fuses his ant army with hers in the sky without casualties. The clone and Tai Qin walk closer and feel deep love for each other. He tells her he must go, that he wishes to be with her forever but cannot defy his father and has a family now, and kisses her goodbye. Tai Qin says it has not been tough, that he is forced while she chose this herself, and that she will always be there. At midnight the clone returns to Calligraphy Pavilion, where a dragonman Gu Immortal reports that the clone’s wife met Fan Ji in secret again while the clone was away. The clone feels an intense rage. ch. 1834
