Fang Yuan's Death?
A ten feet thick bolt of blue lightning from Jing Lan cleaves Fang Yuan’s back and knocks him down, but reverse flow protection seal reflects it, and she absorbs it with the whirlpool in her pupils. Fang Yuan recovers and climbs back into the sky. She is extremely fast, and his ancient sword dragon form cannot match her speed even with sword escape Immortal Gu. His own speed is extremely fast, at the peak among rank seven Gu Immortals, but hers is at the peak among rank eight. ch. 1556
A pale mysterious light from her palm is far weaker than the lightning, yet it makes water splash out of the seal and its thickness visibly shrink. Fang Yuan changes expression intensely and flees with all his strength. Jing Lan credits Fairy Zi Wei with a rank seven killer move to break the seal, usable only once in a while. Then she sees Southern Border’s enormous miasma regional wall rising far away on the horizon, and realizes he means to escape into it. Gu Immortals find it extremely difficult to cross regional walls, and basically no rank eight would try. Fang Yuan, being rank seven, would have a huge advantage there, since his sovereign immortal body moves freely inside. ch. 1556
Jing Lan flies in front of him and blocks him whenever he changes direction, because her speed completely outstrips his. Fang Yuan uses myriad dragon and familiar face together, and she cannot detect his true body. She still slaughters the dragons with her huge arsenal of moves and forces him out, but he gains several li toward the wall. Her pale light then cuts off a large portion of the seal, leaving a thin layer. Fairy Zi Wei says she will now deduce a rank eight killer move using Jing Lan’s Immortal Gu. Jing Lan can only let him enter the regional wall in the end. ch. 1556
She declares that a regional wall cannot block her, covers herself in a thick black cloud ball of fighting ghosts that produce blue lightning, and follows him in. Other rank eight Gu Immortals cannot go deep into regional walls, she says, but she can, having used them against Spectral Soul Demon Venerable. Her lightning strikes him through a seal already too broken to reflect all the damage, and Fang Yuan’s injuries grow severe, his scales dull, his horn broken, and his claws fractured. Jing Lan suffers backlash too, with blood at her lips and dizziness, but her phantom aperture holds only Immortal Gu and immortal essence, with no other resources to suffer greatly. The black cloud has mostly dissipated, exposing her armor. ch. 1556
Fairy Zi Wei announces that the rank eight killer move to break the seal has finally been deduced, and warns of a large backlash if activation fails. Jing Lan fails three times but stops each time she feels something wrong, and the backlash mostly destroys her armor, revealing her body. At the fourth attempt she succeeds. She flies above Fang Yuan and shouts for him to die, and a vast beam of light shoots down toward his head. He has no time to dodge and can only watch the pillar descend. ch. 1556
