Variant Humans

Apart from the humans born from Ren Zu’s proper bloodline, there were also variant humans. Variant humans may be more intelligent than other lifeforms, but they are far from having human wisdom: hairy men were ignorant, eggmen were innocent, and stonemen were naive and barbaric. Even a smart seven or eight year old child could deceive them; kids who bump into hairy men or stonemen sometimes lead them to market, and the variant humans stay ignorant even after being sold. ^{ch. 424}

Every variant human has a special ability stronger than humans. Hairy men are proficient in Gu refinement. Rockmen live underground, are skilled in mining, and grow ores on their bodies. Snowmen are cold-resistant. Inkmen have rich knowledge. Variant human Gu Immortals can reach wisdom similar to human Gu Immortals. ^{ch. 799}

Variant humans are comparatively more simple minded than humans, whose minds are fickle and hard to control. Raising a variant human is much more difficult than raising wild beasts and plants. ^{ch. 816}

Hairy men and other variant humans, even as immortals, would be pushed aside and ostracized under human dominance. Hairy men and the other variant humans were flawed to begin with; they could not become rank nine venerables. ^{ch. 1032}

Mortal slaves fetch a poor price. Variant humans sell for much higher. Gu Masters are the highest priced slaves. ^{ch. 441}

Many Gu Immortals raise variant humans in their blessed lands like pets. They watch them grow, spend effort raising them, and shed tears of heartache when they die. ^{ch. 487}

The five regions are dominated by humans. Variant humans live pressured on all sides; many are sold as slaves or raised as pets, and their livelihood is difficult. Many have no fixed residence and wander like vagabonds. ^{ch. 662}

Across the five regions and the wider world, variant humans were suppressed, captured, and trained as slaves to be sold. Almost all were barely staying alive. Without a Gu Immortal, their lives resembled small tribes scattered in nooks of the world. They did want larger tribes, but large numbers summoned disaster and drew forces to hunt them as slaves. ^{ch. 878}

Groups of variant humans are more united than humans. Humans have the highest intelligence and complex thoughts. Variant humans have lower intelligence and purer minds, and are not as wicked and scheming as humans. Humans ruled the five regions and were the strongest. Variant humans were ostracized and suppressed, with few groups holding precious resources. In every region, variant human slaves were sold in the market. Among the races, humans held absolute dominance, and variant humans were the weaker side. ^{ch. 866}

During the Immemorial Antiquity Era and the Remote Antiquity Era, variant humans were in control of most of the world. Even with Ren Zu, his ten children, Primordial Origin Immortal Venerable, and Star Constellation Immortal Venerable, there were very few humans in the world. ^{ch. 871}

During the Remote Antiquity Era, Primordial Origin Immortal Venerable and Star Constellation Immortal Venerable appeared, leading humans to resist the rule of variant humans and establishing the authority of humans. By the Olden Antiquity Era, three human Demon Venerables appeared, creating wars and exterminating the beastmen race, stabilizing humans as the rulers. ^{ch. 912}

When human Immortal Venerables and Demon Venerables suppressed all ten variant human races and slaughtered them, the variant humans worked together to create racial inheritances holding each race’s most valuable possessions, hidden for later generations. ^{ch. 1769}

There were ten variant human races in the Gu world: hairy men, rockmen, snowmen, feathermen, mermen, inkmen, eggmen, beastmen, miniman, and mushroommen. Each had its own specialty. Humans’ intelligence is too high, and they expend too many resources to raise. ^{ch. 1489}
