Eight-sided diamond star fragment

Divine Travel tells Verdant Great Sun to collect eight-sided diamonds from the star fragments in blue heaven at night, then use the rising sun’s light of glory with azure heaven jade bamboo to become Fixed Immortal Travel. In the star river of blue heaven, Verdant Great Sun refuses seven-sided and sixteen-sided fragments and takes only eight-sided ones. Those star fragments are like diamonds, crystal clear and flawless. He finds one after a long search, holds it with the jade bamboo under the light of glory, and Divine Travel swallows the star fragment before entering the bamboo to metamorphose. ^{ch. 371}

Fang Yuan restates the same requirement: an eight-sided diamond star fragment from blue heaven, jade sky colored jade bamboo from azure heaven, and the light of glory of the immemorial era. Fixed star Gu on his left forearm is a star fragment from the immemorial era that looks like a diamond with eight sides, and it stands in for that material in his refinement. With Divine Travel, jade sky Gu, and that fragment under torrential light stream as a stand-in for the light of glory, he refines Fixed Immortal Travel. ^{ch. 405}

A later summary of the legend again names the eight-sided diamonds inside the star fragments that Verdant Great Sun collected in blue heaven when refining Fixed Immortal Travel. ^{ch. 466}
