Myriad Ore Desert

On the surface, myriad ore desert is flat, cracked, rocky ground with no vegetation, but underground it holds a huge mine where a hundred thousand rockmen work as miners, excavating materials for Gu Immortals. Shi clan, a Western Desert super force, controls the desert, whose ore runs to many types and huge quantities, among them subterranean adamantite, the hardest rank six immortal material, and dark inkstone, which an ancient sword dragon’s claws cannot mark. Beyond the mortal resources the rockmen dig out, much of the immortal ore has to be excavated by Gu Immortals themselves. ^{ch. 1474}

Deep below the desert runs a huge gold fragment current, part of a fragment of immemorial yellow heaven that fell there in the past; as the fragment dissipated over the eras, its dao marks turned the surrounding desert into myriad ore desert, and the current itself has never dried up. An immortal Gu formation inside the current stays active, monitoring the desert and controlling its rockmen miners. ^{ch. 1474}

Shi clan’s first supreme elder sends Shi Zhong to defend myriad ore desert, a resource-rich post that borders other super forces hostile to Shi clan and leaves him in great danger, and the immortal formation monitors it so strictly that he has no chance to act. ^{ch. 1474}

Shi Kang, travelling to Wan clan with Zuo Qiu Yan Ming and Tuoba Feng Yan, passes myriad ore desert and offers them a rest at the resource point his clan’s Shi Zhong guards, every resource point having an immortal formation and being safer than the wilderness. Shi Zhong verifies the three at the formation’s edge and lets them in, then holds a small banquet and gives Shi Kang the main seat. Guarding myriad ore desert and digging its immortal ore is a tough mission, and a Gu Immortal sent there is normally one the clan has ostracized. ^{ch. 2222}

Back at myriad ore desert, Shi Zhong reads a message from Shi clan saying Fang clan has lost, and reckons the loss at only two rank seven Gu Immortals and three Immortal Gu Houses, leaving Fang clan some battle strength. ^{ch. 2262}
