Lightning and Hatred

Fate Gu hurls Blazing Glory Lightning Brilliance and Myriad Gold Wondrous Essence away from Ren Zu. They land in the immemorial blue heaven. There, a lightning Gu’s unbroken rage has already grown into a whole forest of lightning around it. The two hide still, afraid a stray bolt will kill them, and wait for the anger to pass, but the forest keeps spreading instead. Brooding on fate Gu’s part in his exile, Blazing Glory Lightning Brilliance feels his heart ache and opens his chest to find a Gu gnawing inside it. His sister first takes the worm for love Gu, but it names itself hatred Gu, refuses to leave the home it is building in his heart, and says it is remaking that heart into a heart of hatred. It came to this heaven drawn by lightning Gu’s anger and found his heart the better home. ^{ch. 2021}

He grabs and crushes it barehanded twice, and each time it revives larger from his own blood, telling him hatred cannot be killed, only fed larger by the vengeance meant to end it. Reshaped into hatred toward fate Gu, he tells his frightened sister that the hatred has shown him a path of revenge with no lightning on it, drags her forward, and no bolt in the storm strikes either of them. They collide with an invisible barrier that hatred Gu names the heavenly wind qi wall, the border of the immemorial nine heavens. Blind to the wall through hatred Gu’s hold on him, he charges and bloodies himself against it again and again while the lightning forest closes in. Cornered, Myriad Gold Wondrous Essence despairs, wishing aloud that they still had wealth Gu. ^{ch. 2021}

Rather than strike them down, lightning Gu holds back and offers a bargain. Trapped in the immemorial blue heaven with no way out of its own, it can see an exit through him, and it will break the wall if they carry it free. They agree, and hatred Gu lends lightning Gu its own strength. Empowered, lightning Gu does not merely break the wall but shatters the whole of the immemorial blue heaven, and all four of them flee the ruin together. ^{ch. 2021}
