Grandmaster is the third of the five main attainment levels from ordinary to supreme grandmaster. It marks a profound grasp of one's own path, deep enough to draw on specialty traits of other paths.
Realm on a path climbs a fixed ladder from ordinary to supreme grandmaster. Profound grasp of a path
Mimic other paths
At grandmaster level, the main path’s Gu can imitate advantages of other paths. Hei Fan’s true inheritance includes the time path killer move hundred years harmony, which produces an information path effect, and that shows time path attainment at least at grandmaster. Few Gu Immortals reach this level. It often needs a hundred years or even hundreds of years of accumulation, along with natural talent. Those who hold it are mostly rank seven Gu Immortals. ch. 1326
Battle strength from realm
Every advancement of realm upgrades battle strength, because deeper understanding of law fragments lets Gu Masters refine better Gu, create more killer moves, and display greater dominance of their paths. Fang Yuan’s previous life blood path grandmaster attainment let him create new blood path Gu and many blood path killer moves, and even remnant recipes of Immortal Gu from initially nothing. ch. 687
Swallowing blessed lands
To swallow a rank seven blessed land, a Gu Immortal needs grandmaster level attainment in that realm. ch. 731
Grandmaster versus great grandmaster
There is a huge difference between grandmaster and great grandmaster. At grandmaster level, a Gu Immortal can use their path to imitate the specialties of other paths. Grandmaster attainment normally needs hundreds of years of accumulation. ch. 1502
