Alliance Agreement

Under the Snowy Mountain Alliance, allies may keep personal secrets, but they cannot lie: silence is allowed, spoken words must be true, or the oath kills the speaker. ^{ch. 678} The agreement also forbids allies from intentionally harming each other. ^{ch. 679}

Breaking an alliance agreement causes backlash. Fairy Li Shan once spat blood from that backlash and still endured it. ^{ch. 797} The agreement is not impossible to circumvent: she has a time path killer move that can delay the damage of breaking it, and some alliances also carry a time limit. ^{ch. 816}

A later agreement Fang Yuan sets is hard to break. He uses prior-life experience to close loopholes, and he estimates that even an information path great grandmaster would need years to break it. ^{ch. 948}

A restrictive alliance agreement can bind alliance members in both body and soul. After Fang Yuan revives in a new body, the same soul still cannot safely defy the agreement. He reasons that the effect splits into body and soul portions, so in the new body he counts as only half an alliance member, yet soul backlash alone would still be too great to risk. ^{ch. 1025}

Regardless of the information path alliance agreement, it can be broken using information path methods. ^{ch. 1046} Ying Wu Xie later uses a soul path immortal killer move to make an alliance agreement that achieves information path effects, enforced by information path dao marks so that breach brings backlash. ^{ch. 1149 ch. 1151}
