When Fang Yuan’s giant hand seizes a weakened queen from ambush and seven more giant hands rout the five rank six Gu Immortals, only Xiao Hu Chi and Xiao Shi Rang, the group’s two rank sevens, hold two of the hands on even terms. After Fang Yuan reveals himself peacefully and offers a long term trade in regretful spiders for Ten Thousand Li Silk Corridor’s mortal spider Gu needs, Xiao Hu Chi asks how many he can supply, then pays on the clan’s behalf in the first transaction while Fang Yuan receives a node token. After a battle against Central Continent’s ten great sects ends, Xiao Hu Chi mocks the loser, then tries to negotiate splitting a contested resource with the Northern Plains demonic path Gu Immortal left beside him, Pi Shui Han. Pi Shui Han answers by telling him to scram, and when Xiao Hu Chi names himself a rank seven expert of Western Desert’s Xiao clan, Pi Shui Han attacks; after more than ten rounds Xiao Hu Chi is losing ground when Xiao Shi Rang arrives to join him. Even together the two are forced to retreat, and only afterward does Xiao Shi Rang identify their opponent as Pi Shui Han. ch. 1705
