Winds blow as sand scatters in the air over a huge area of sand dunes that move slowly while fierce wind darkens the sky. ^{ch. 836} Hundreds of thousands of dunes travel a fixed curved path with no oases, beasts, or rocks, only yellow sand. ^{ch. 837}

The moving dunes

Behind Xiao clan’s spider battlefield lies a huge dune area already shifting slowly under fierce wind while the sky darkens. Xiao clan Gu Masters hold formation against hidden sand spiders there. The spiders are the size of elephants, covered in glazed exoskeleton, and skilled at moving in sand. An aerial count estimates at least thirty thousand of them, and the clan’s experience keeps the fight tilted toward the humans. ^{ch. 836}

That dune motion ranks among Western Desert’s seven most famous natural wonders. The path holds no oases, no beasts, and no rocks, only yellow sand, and even rank eight Gu Immortals are powerless to stop it. Western Desert’s people named the dunes from that helplessness toward nature’s might. ^{ch. 837}
