She counts on it to let her retry the dream realm freely, even though her wind knot grass was already ruined beyond saving. But as she flees, an eagle-bodied beastman pounces from the sky, and her normally rapid wings move extremely slowly inside this dream realm. It crushes her soul before she can escape, leaving it heavily injured, and she is thrown back into her waking body coughing blood. Shaken, she admits another hit would definitely kill her inside the dream, and that even dream wings Immortal Gu leaves her unsafe against an Immortal Venerable’s dream realm. She heals with guts Gu, expecting to recover completely within half a day. ch. 913
Watching her fail teaches Fang Yuan that this dream realm’s outer layer centers on the wind knot grass itself, and that even a rank six Immortal Gu could not win an instant escape. He works the grass by hand, reaching its third layer before the intertwined stalks become too tangled to untie further. Without brute force it needs confidence, good perception, deduction and some luck. Patience and ample time matter most. The girl he suspects is Star Constellation Immortal Venerable has already reached the seventh layer using only her own mind, no wisdom path Gu worms, which shocks him. With more than half the time gone, he ranks himself middle to upper among the children at untying skill but only middle to lower in progress, and she alone looks likely to escape. His previous-life memories give him only a very small edge here, since every dream realm differs. ch. 913
Fang Yuan activates unravel dream, and the tangled strands melt and untie themselves under its power. The move is not purely offensive; its effect follows each dream’s own rules, and here the rule is to untie the grass, so unravel dream simply performs that task. Onlookers, including a watching snake beastman, see only a clever mind, not cheating. Using the killer move again and again, Fang Yuan reaches the grass’s core and takes its seed, the plant’s self-defense and dispersal mechanism, becoming the first to succeed. Fang Yuan wakes to find himself already more than a dozen steps from the dream realm’s external manifestation, his wisdom path attainment risen slightly though he does not understand why he left after only one scene. He had expected three scenes by this dream realm’s scale. Spirit Affinity House’s group is still occupied healing Feng Jin Huang, so his exit goes unseen, but not understanding the trigger risks exposing him toward their side next time. After a long pause, his frown eases, and he lets the dream realm swallow him again. ch. 913
On his second entry, Fang Yuan again unties fastest, then also helps the suspected Star Constellation Immortal Venerable child untie hers, and both escape together. He is again thrown out after only the first scene, so either she is not Star Constellation Immortal Venerable, or passing requires saving some further number of children. Saving her did raise his wisdom path attainment further than his first escape had. Before a third try, Fang Yuan rests and uses guts Gu to heal his soul, weakened by repeated exploring but still far less injured than Feng Jin Huang’s. On the third entry he unties his wind knot grass within a few breaths using unravel dream repeatedly, declares his success, and stuns the watching beastmen and children into silence. ch. 913
