Remaining trump card
The flying bear phantom has at least half immortal battle strength, is quite crafty, and can battle entirely alone. The river-like Giant Sun’s will tries to slip past it to reach Fang Yuan. It ends up coiled around the phantom in a stalemate. Killing Fang Yuan would take at least half the river’s will, and the other half could not match the phantom. It lost once already by splitting, when Fang Yuan challenged a small portion with the glass owner token. Both were injured, and the will took a huge risk and paid a huge price only to regain control of the treemen round. ch. 625
Fang Yuan sustains the true inheritance light lump to slow the will’s expansion and hopes it will split again. It does not. Most of Giant Sun’s will is outside enduring the tribulation to protect Eighty-Eight True Yang Building, and of the two portions inside, one fights the phantom. The other contests Fang Yuan and Tai Bai Yun Sheng for the building, and the golden trace in the supreme true inheritance has grown to palm size. Heavily suppressed, they are bound to lose eventually, and once the will expands successfully it retakes the building and leaves them dead meat. ch. 625
Fang Yuan has no other move, because the phantom is in use and Tai Bai Yun Sheng, an ally gained by swindling, is engaged too. Only Spring Autumn Cicada remains among his trump cards, and he rejects it. It has no guaranteed success rate, black death bad luck thickly covers him, and his chances are probably under one in ten. Tai Bai Yun Sheng suggests retreating to Fang Yuan’s blessed land with Fixed Immortal Travel. Fang Yuan is really indignant to stop one tiny step from an immense fortune, and the retreat could fail once the will regains the building. Then he thinks of Ma Hong Yun and sees a chess piece. ch. 625
He flies up with the supreme true inheritance, and since he refined Fixed Immortal Travel Gu, Tai Bai Yun Sheng cannot escape without him. The river-like will chases them past the phantom, but the phantom follows, and Fang Yuan turns in many directions. On sighting the luck path true inheritance, Fang Yuan laughs and asks what happens when two supreme true inheritances collide. Tai Bai Yun Sheng pales, then sees a brilliant plan, since they cannot let go and will die sooner or later anyway. The consequences are so severe that even Giant Sun’s will loses its composure. ch. 625
Ma Hong Yun, holding Zhao Lian Yun, shouts at Fang Yuan to stay away. Their extreme luck keeps them alive, and the will has not dealt with them because it guards the luck path true inheritance and cannot leave Fang Yuan. The will screams at him to stop, fearing a collision would damage or destroy the last luck path true inheritance and cost the building immense damage. It sets its thoughts self-detonating, its strength surges by at least half, and the phantom is thoroughly suppressed. Fang Yuan takes over the phantom, and with five hundred years of battle experience it blocks the will completely. The will warns that ill intent toward Ma Hong Yun will drain Fang Yuan’s luck under the overwhelming power of fortune rivaling heaven Gu, and Mo Yao’s will agrees. ch. 625
With the two supreme true inheritances less than a thousand steps apart, dozens of figures, almost all familiar, are transported into the domain ahead of Fang Yuan. They include Ye Lui Sang, Gu Guo Long and Bian Si Xuan, led by Hei Lou Lan. Hei Lou Lan laughs that Giant Sun has exposed the crimes of Fang Yuan and Tai Bai Yun Sheng, and that Fang Yuan’s life ends here. Tai Bai Yun Sheng cannot free himself, and the arrival is a fatal blow. The river-like will welcomes them as the best bet to topple the balance, an arrangement that was definitely the main will’s work. It growls that they are dead meat, and the initiative returns to its side. ch. 625
Tai Bai Yun Sheng admits defeat and urges Fang Yuan to enter his aperture and retreat with Fixed Immortal Travel before it is too late. Fang Yuan refuses, since letting go gives the will the building, which draws in Immortal Gu across the whole of northern plains, so the retreat would most likely fail. Tai Bai Yun Sheng answers that only a slim chance remains, and it vanishes if they delay. Fang Yuan hesitates as golden light fills a third of the lump, spreading faster. He says he never expected to come to this and would not do it but for the circumstances. Shocked, overjoyed and suspicious, Tai Bai Yun Sheng asks whether Fang Yuan still has a method left. ch. 625
