Selling a Human Slave
Lang Ya blessed land’s Black Hair Continent holds Steel Thread City, its grandest city, home to hundreds of thousands of hairy men within the walls alone, one of three sea continents beside the smaller Cloud Cover Continent floating above. Steel Thread City’s trading market ranks among Black Hair Continent’s most famous. There, slave merchant Kang Ba, a hairy man with a huge business and some fame, steps onto the stage. He announces he has brought many yellow haired slaves this time, including quasi masters in refinement path, and the crowd is pleased. They discuss the huge battles among the three continents, waged ever since Lord Immortal proclaimed from Cloud Cover Continent that every ten years immortal seeds would be picked to study the ways of immortals. Who becomes a seed depends on who draws Lord Immortal’s attention in those battles. Black Hair Continent has just joined White Hair Continent against Yellow Hair Continent, winning several battles and capturing yellow hairs. ch. 1049
Kang Ba brings out his first slave, Fang Zheng, dragged in chains and already covered in wounds. A handler whips and drags him onto the stage, and Kang Ba scolds the handler for the roughness. Kang Ba announces him as a rare breed he obtained with great difficulty. Onlookers notice his faint rank five Gu Master aura, and since city lords on the three continents usually hold the highest authority at rank five, someone guesses he is a shaved and humiliated city lord from Yellow Hair Continent. Kang Ba instead reveals him as a pure blood human, shocking the crowd, since hairy men rule Lang Ya blessed land and rarely see one. Kang Ba hooks a finger and a formless force stands Fang Zheng up, and hairy men gather from across the market to see the rare human, the commotion he paid a huge price for. ch. 1049
Increasingly confused, Fang Zheng recalls being told under torture that his brother is dead and Hu Immortal blessed land seized, and he half believes it. He knows that outside Lang Ya, humans are the absolute rulers and variant humans are heavily suppressed, but here hairy men clearly rule and humans are suppressed instead. Kang Ba names an opening price the crowd calls outrageous. Astute buyers answer that enslaving a rank five Gu Master needs at least rank four cultivation, and that one clearly tortured and maybe heavily injured might die after purchase. To prove his fitness, Kang Ba forces his mouth open, inflicting intense pain, then tears his shirt completely off, leaving him completely naked before the crowd. Kang Ba then uses a twig to display Fang Zheng’s groin, telling the crowd he can father human offspring for an endless supply of slaves, and the hairy men laugh. Filled with intense anger and humiliation, Fang Zheng is held immobile, unable even to bite his tongue and end his own life. ch. 1049
A female city lord twice the size of ordinary hairy men declares she will buy him, then orders Kang Ba to treat and clean him and send him to her home by night. Delighted, Kang Ba kowtows in agreement. Fang Zheng despairs. A thunderous five-colored light bursts from Cloud Cover Continent, visible across all of Lang Ya blessed land, and hairy men call it a huge blessing. The crowd’s attention shifts to the light, and Fang Zheng is completely forgotten. ch. 1049
