Ice tears

Snowmen normally do not cry or laugh, so tears are very rare; most never cry from joy or pain in their lives. When a snowman does shed tears, the tear instantly condenses into ice. Icy tears are precious Gu refinement material that Gu Masters prize. Gu Immortals raise and torture snowmen for icy tears, and transactions of icy tears flourish in treasure yellow heaven. ^{ch. 537}

A snowman can shed tears at most three times in life, and the amount does not surpass sixty drops. Each shedding cuts lifespan and life essence by a huge amount, and shedding too many times ages them toward death. ^{ch. 537}

As Fang Yuan prepares to leave the icy plain once the four races alliance is formed, Xue Er hands him an item and tells him to take it as her farewell gift; he glances at it and sees it is an ice tear drop. ^{ch. 1146}

Ice tears originate from snowmen. They are precious Gu refinement material for human Gu Immortals, and among snowmen they are also a token of love exchanged in marriage. Xue Er hands Fang Yuan an ice tear in public, and her handing it over is as good as expressing her love. ^{ch. 1147} Fang Yuan knows the meaning: accepting the ice tear is accepting Xue Er’s love, while refusing would ruin the cooperative relationship between himself and the snowmen and rockmen. ^{ch. 1149} Ice tears are not an immortal material, but they remain precious and widely loved by Gu Masters and Gu Immortals. ^{ch. 1147}

Snowmen are named together with ice tears and snow lotus essence as specialty products of that race. ^{ch. 1489}

When Fang Yuan takes the snowman and rockman treasury, the snowman tribe’s ice tear is listed with the rockman tribe’s bumpy rice as specialty immortal materials of the two tribes. That treasury also holds antiquity stocks such as face changing silver, nearly gone from the present day and from treasure yellow heaven. ^{ch. 1584}
